Chapter 4

Amara

The next morning I woke up to someone yelling my name and in a room that wasn't mine. I realized that I was still in Kason's room. "Amara Lynn Simms where are you?" Valerie yelled downstairs, I needed to get my keys back from my friends.

"I forgot to tell you that Valerie called yesterday." Kason said pulling me closer to his chest.

"You tell me this now!"

"Shh she won't find us if we stay quiet." I sighed in agreement not wanting to get out of bed. I could hear her coming up the stairs but knew she would go to my room first before looking in the others. When I thought she would give up the room door opened to reveal my beautiful best friend. At five foot five, she was a fierce and took shit from no one. And although her hair may be blonde she never fit the stereotype. Working in one of the best law firms in the state of New York. Val had made a name for herself and planned to start her own law firm soon.

"There you are, what the hell."

"It's rude to come to people's houses unannounced." I glared at her pulling the covers over my head. Kason chuckled getting out of the bed wearing only his underwear going into the bathroom. Thank god we managed to put some clothes on before we fell asleep or it would've been awkward. Val stared at his tattooed back for a second before turning her attention back to me.

"Don't get upset with me, I called yesterday. Kason answered and said he was going to tell you to pick me up from the airport this morning. I had to call an Uber and you know how much I hate those."

"I'm sorry Kason never told me. I know you told me you were visiting but it slipped my mind and then we got preoccupied yesterday."

"I see that. When you two finish doing the nasty call me so that we can have lunch later. Which you are going to be paying for. We have a lot of things to discuss." She left and Kason walked out of the bathroom.

"I changed my mind I like her." He smiled liking her idea that we were in the middle of having sex.

"Shut up and come take a shower with me." I got out of the bed and went into the bathroom.

"Ooh shower sex my favorite."

"I'm still sore." I said adjusting the water to the right temperature.

"Don't worry baby girl I got you." He said lifting me up so that I could wrap my legs around his waist.

And boy did he, I was a bit late for work because I had to fix my hair but it was worth it. I decided to take Valarie out to lunch as a attempt to apologize for not picking her up from the airport.

"How was it?"

"We've had sex before, but this was different. Something felt different between us."

"This time you guys are trying to have a baby not trying to relieve stress or fuck for fun so its going to feel different."

"That's not it, it was almost like we were making love."

"Are you saying that you might be in love with your best friend?"

"I don't know. I'm thinking it's the hormones I've been taking or I'm coming to the realization that I have feelings for my best friend."

"I'd wait to see if you are, I've been rooting on you two to get together for years. Hey isn't that Kason over there?" I looked to where Valerie was pointing and there was Kason sitting a few tables away from us with a woman. They seemed to know each other well because the woman leaned in close to Kason. You could tell that she either wanted to or had slept with him by how she glared at their waitress.
