I talked to Tyshawn for a few minutes until he had to go back home. I got his number and saved it to my phone. I liked the feeling of being cared about, It's a wonderful feeling. I looked at the time and it was 6:32 P.M. "Time to go home," I said before putting everything into my backpack and walking off. Brooklyn isn't really a bad place, I love it here. I have to admit, even though I might regret it later; It's better than Florida. I walked past the construction site and looked at the note on the fence:
"Construction will be finished April 25th"
I ripped the piece of paper off and put it in my pocket and continued walking. The streets began to quiet down, buses dropping off people at stores and or their homes. The bakery was about to close in 4 hours so I stopped by, Where I saw Elijah and Jared, sipping on coffee and chatting. I wanted to say Hi, But I didn't want to bother them. I walked passed the bakery quickly, but a gust of wind blew and threw my hoodie back, revealing my face and long hair. Elijah looked outside and saw me, rushing out and hugging me. "Hey! Didn't know that you would stop by!" he grinned, looking at Jared at the corner of his eye. I sighed, looking down. "So, Whats going on? Why are you guys here?" I asked. He shrugged, "Just decided to talk about the game and you coming into the team." That's right. Everyone was going to talk about that. Zaria Smith, the tomboy who decided to join the boys basketball team. I was about to become a freak, and a target to many of the Divas who thought I was getting too close to the other guys. Jared came out with a slight smile. "Hey, Zar" He said, patting my shoulders. I moved his hand away, glaring at him. "Shouldn't you be at Brook's party? I mean she's your girlfriend and of course she doesn't want me to come!" I snapped. He rolled his eyes. "She wants a big ass cake that's all pink and full with sparkles. THEN we're on our way to the party." "And the problem is, We have no where to go after, I mean I don't want my aunt to freak out that I'm going to a party where girls want to do STUFF to the guys." Elijah added on. I chuckled, looking up at him. "Then why not come over my place? I got extra rooms and I call the couch." Jared grinned. "Thanks, Zar" he said. I didn't say anything to him, still being mad for leaving me with Brooke and her girlfriends, breaking my skateboard.
The cake was soon finished, standing tall in the owners hand. We helped him put it into his truck and I watched as Jared and Elijah jumped in. "So, We'll see you at around 10 at your place?" Elijah asked, looking at his phone. "Yep, at 10, Text the others and I'll be preparing," and just like that, I ran off into the streets. I can't believe it, Jared is actually coming over MY house!
~
I began to make the food, throwing different movies on the counter tops and pouring out juice for the guys. I locked the rooms that they couldn't see/go into and opened the extra rooms for them. I looked at the time as it was 4 minutes to 10. Just in time. I cleaned the floor and turned on the TV, pulling down the shades and dimming down the lights so the rest of the street doesn't think that just anyone could just come over here. Three loud knocks echoed as I looked at the door. "Who is it?" I asked, trying to look through the peep hole. There stood the guys in their PJs and holding some cake from the party. I opened the door and grinned. "SLEEPOVER!!" Tyshawn said, running into the house and jumping on the couch. I laughed, looking and Jared and closing the door behind him. "I'm glad you could make it," I mumbled, looking down. He sighed, looking away. "Yeah..." He walked past me, a slight breeze it me. "What's his problem?" I asked James. He whispered, "He just broke up with Brooke..."
