"Britt,we're going to an arcade! Why would I wear a dress?" I asked, slightly frustrated at her 'fashion advice'. She sighed, dropping her arms by her side, still clutching the dresses. "Fine, but you're never going to woo a guy, more specifically Ashton Irwin, in jeans." Brittney stated, flopping down on the bed, next to me. "Brittney! I'm not trying to 'woo' anybody." I said, smacking her on the arm.
We giggled, our laughs fading out after a few minutes. We sat in a heavy silence, not awkward but more like the space was filled with our thoughts. Brittney was the first to speak: "Are you nervous?" she asked me softly.
I hesitated, wondering how to force my thoughts into words that adequately described how I felt. "Yes," I finally answered. "I'm scared to see him; I'm scared to see how he will react to seeing me. I'm scared he'll be angry, but I'm even more scared that he won't be. Does that make sense?" She whispered a soft no before grabbing ahold of my hand and squeezing it.
After a few minutes, Brittney stood up, pulling me to my feet. She hugged my neck before pulling away and staring into my eyes. "It'll be fine, Kat. Now, c'mon; let's get you dressed." she said, winking at me.

We stepped out of my apartment, locking the door behind us. "I already regret letting you dress me." I giggled, pushing Brittney causing her to erupt in a fit of giggles. She had convinced me to wear a purple blouse and a black leather skirt that fell just above my knees. We compromised on the skirt because it had shorts underneath but still made me 'look fierce'.
"So, obviously you get Ashton, but would it be weird if I hit on Michael?" Brittney asked, giggling at me. "I guess not," I chuckled, "But it's not up to me, is it?" She laughed before double checking her hair and makeup as we passed by a window.
"Where are they picking us up again?" She asked, looking around. "I told them we would walk to the front of the apartment complex so they won't have to mess around with the gates." I replied, kicking at a rock on the pavement. It was mid-august, so, while there was a chill in the air, it was gorgeous outside.
We got to the gates and looked around for the guys. I couldn't see them anywhere but soon a black car pulled up to the curb, just in front of us. The window rolled down and suddenly Calum and Luke were grinning at us. I heard Brittney let out a small gasp and I leaned down to the window to talk to Calum who was driving. "Do you beautiful women need a ride?" Calum asked smirking at me and Britt. "Calum Hood, Lucas: My best friend, Brittney Ryder. Britt, well, you're a fan, so you know who they are." I introduced them, chuckling at my own joke.
We got in the backseat of the car and Brittney shook hands with the boys, a blush prominent on her cheeks. At least she didn't squeal, I thought. "Wait, where's Mikey and Ashton?" I asked, looking around. Luke turned, facing the backseat as Calum took off. "Michael is dying his hair, again-""of course." We all said in unison.
Luke chuckled, and then continued. "- and Ashton is- going to meet us at the restaurant with Michael," He said, after a moment's hesitation. My eyes widened in shock and disbelief. "Meaning you guys haven't told him I'm coming." I said, more as a statement then a question. Calum winked at me through the rear view mirror. "Oh my goodness, I can't believe you guys!" I said hitting them on the arm. "Oh, c'mon, Kat, he's going to be thrilled!" Calum said, leaning away from my hand that was still in the air, threateningly. I placed my head on Brittney shoulder, sighing. She grabbed my hand, trying to offer some reassurance.
I saw Luke nudge Calum's arm on the console in the middle and then gesture at our fingers intertwined. "Hemmings, you better watch yourself." I said making him turn red. "Sorry Kitty Kat, I'm just surprised. But her" He said, holding his hands up in surrender.
Instead of attempting to deny anything, Brittney leaned over and placed a kiss on my cheek, winking at Luke. Laughing so hard I couldn't breathe, I shook my head and Luke. He seemed to understand that he had misinterpreted our friendship and laughed.
"So, Brittney, you're a fan, huh?" Luke asked.
A/N: I'll try to update as much as possible, however, my 2y/o nephew is in so I'm babysitting. All the love X.
