"Whoa, wait, Ashton Irwin? Like Ashton Irwin, as in the smoking hot drummer from 5 Seconds of Summer? That's the guy you left behind? What are you, nuts?" My best friend, Brittney, whisper-shouted at me, earning us a few glares. She gasped, "Thats why you always change the radio station when they come on! I knew you were pretending to hate them!"
"Yes, Britt, now will you be quiet?" I asked, flipping the page of my psycology book, determined not to make eye contact with her.
We had a free period after lunch, so we went to the library to study before the big test we had today. But, of course, Brittney was ignoring the Silence rule.
"I'm sorry, I just can't believe you dated Ashton Irwin!" She said, shocked. "Whoa, hey. We never dated, okay?" "Whatever, I know you loved him. Besides y'all kissed! You practically dated. And he obviously loved you."
I rolled my eyes at her, feeling my face heat up a bit. "We kissed once, and it was a dare, that hardly counts." "Whatever." She huffed. "So are you going to see him tonight?" She asked, excitedly.
"I don't know. I mean, I promised Michael I'd text him when we got out of class. I just don't know if I'm ready to see him. I mean, Britt, I haven't even talked to this boy since the day I left. What if he, like, punches me in the face or something?" "That probably won't happen," she snickered, "but if it worries you that much, I could always go with you."
"Wait, really? Oh my gosh, that would be awesome!" I practically squealed, causing the librarian to glare at me.
"Yeah, I mean I want to support you. Meeting my favorite band would be cool too," she giggled, "but mainly to be there for my best friend." She winked.

After class ended, I sent Michael a text before walking home.
-Hey mikey! It's Kat...
-Hey loser, what're you doin?
-I'm heading home. Shouldn't you be alseep? Dont you have a show tonight?
-no, it's tomorrow night.. are you walking? Where are you, I'll pick you up
-Its okay, it's not far
-No, really, why don't I meet you at the café from this morning?
I thought for a moment before agreeing. Brittney had made plans to come over to my apartment in about an hour to 'help me get ready'. But I had some time. I walked for about three more minutes before entering the shop and sitting at a booth in the back.
It only took a few moments until the bell above the door jingled, signaling someone's arrival. I turned just in time to see three tall boys shoving each other and laughing as they entered the coffee shop. They all came over to where I was sitting and Michael pulled me to my feet. "Hey, Mike" I said hugging him. "Lucas!" I yelled, my head only coming to the tall blonde's chest. "Kat, you're still so short!" He chuckled as I hit his chest.
As I turned to greet Calum I was enveloped into a hug and attacked with kisses. "Calum!" I giggled, hitting him to get him off. He finally stopped and pulled back, looking at me. "Holy shit. I can't believe you're here. What the hell is wrong with you?" He laughed, "why'd you leave? Oh," he said suddenly, his face falling with realization, "it's because you're in love with me, isn't it?" He asked, winking at me.
I looked down at the floor with false embarrassment. "How did you know?" I asked looking at Calum through my eyelashes and grinning.

We sat and talked for about 30 minutes before we decided to part ways. We had decided to meet up at a pizzeria/arcade place that was about a mile from where the boys were staying at about 7, giving me more time to get ready than expected .
"Wait, will it be weird if I bring a friend?" I asked as we all stood up for final hugs. "Depends, is she hot?" Mike asked, snickering. I scoffed and hit him on the arm before replying.
"Yes, but she's really important to me and I would like to remain friends with this girl even after you boys leave. So, she's off limits." I said, looking at each of them, in turn.
They put up their hands in surrender before making their way out of the café. I had refused Calum's offer to drive me home, so after I paid for a coffee for Britt, I began the short walk to my apartment, wondering how tonight was going to go.
