Chapter 5 - The Cabin

          Can’t believe it’s been a week since I have seen Derrick.  He had to go out of town with some friends and I had told him I wasn’t going anywhere.  I would be here when he got back.  We had talked on the phone almost every day he was gone.  We would talk for hours before bed.  Then we would send kisses over the phone and go to bed.  I couldn’t wait for the next night to come.  But then when they did I didn’t want them to end.

          Now he is back and we have a week planned out at his cabin.  I have been looking forward to it for the whole week.  This day couldn’t have come sooner.  I am so excited to be going with Derrick and it will only be me and him.  Talk about romantic.  I can picture us sitting out on the back porch watching the sun set over the lake.  He said there was a spa not far from there and that was one of our days planned.  Now I’m just waiting for Derrick to pick me up because I am all packed and ready to go.

           I visit with my mom while I am waiting for Derrick to get here. She remembers going to a cabin once with dad and they had a very nice time there.  She said that it would be a great experience with the great outdoors and being able to spend it with someone special.  I told her that I just couldn’t wait.  The suspense was getting to me.  I hope that it is as nice as he says it is. 

          My mind starts racing again and I slip into a day-dream yet again.  I start thinking about where we will be sleeping.  Does he expect me to sleep with him?  Or does he have a separate room for me and him?  Wow never thought about that till now because I was so excited about going.  I snap out of my day-dream when my mom starts snapping her fingers and asking “are you OK?”  I told her “yea mom I day-dream a lot and I just can’t help it.  My mind takes over and it runs wild.”  She just smiled and then I hear the doorbell ring.  DING-DONG! DING-DONG!  “He’s here!” I yell. 

          I answer the door and sure enough it is Derrick looking as sexy as ever.  I invite him in and I finally get to introduce him to my mom.  I say “hey mom this is Derrick. Isn’t he just so cute?”  She replies, “Oh yes he is a very handsome young man.  Now you better treat her right you hear me?”  “I will for sure Mrs. Parker.  I will never let anything happen to your precious daughter.  She is my everything” he says.  “OK then.  You guys better get going before it starts getting dark,”  my mom said.  She has a point though because it is about a two hour drive there.  So we say goodbye to her and walk out the door hand in hand and a big smile on my face.

          We walk to the car and he acts like the perfect gentleman and he opens my door for me and then packs my luggage.  I sit there and turn the music up and start singing to the songs that are playing.  He smiles and says “you have a beautiful voice.”  I blush because I have actually never sang in front of anybody before.  I only sing in the shower.  I suppose I was so happy because I was singing out loud and didn’t even realize it.  It made me feel good to hear him say that, although I hope he wasn’t just saying that to be nice.  I turn the music up a little bit louder and just sing to my hearts delight.  I even notice him starting to sing along either.  He has a sexy voice as well.

          It takes us two hours to get there but with him it didn’t seem that long.  When we pull up to the cabin it is more beautiful then I could have ever imagined.  It was a two story cabin and it had a deck out back as well as a balcony in front.  “The balcony is off the master bedroom” he said.  I walked inside while he got our luggage.  When I walked into the front door it just stopped me in my tracks and I had a shocked look on my face.  It seemed like it was bigger on the inside then it looked on the outside.  I started to think about that show called “Doctor Who.”  The doctor had a phone booth that was bigger on the inside and that is what this place reminded me of.  I couldn’t help but stand there wondering how it was even possible. 

          I was standing there when he walked into the front door.  He said to me “are you OK?”  I stated in reply “how on earth does it look bigger on the inside then on the outside?  This is amazing and gorgeous.  I just can’t believe I am right here with you in this big beautiful building you call a home.  Well a home away from home actually, but still it is a home.”  He walks past me with our luggage and starts climbing the stairs to put it in the bedroom. 

          My mind was now thinking about how bad I would love to sleep with him.  I think it is too soon but then we don’t have to do anything except sleep.  Besides I would love for him to cuddle with me going to sleep.  Maybe we will sleep together.  He says “you get the master bedroom since you are my guest.  I will sleep in the other room if you feel more comfortable that way.”  I just stare at him.  How did he even know that was running through my brain?  It is like he did some mind reading stuff on me.  Is he a jedi in disguise?  No that isn’t actually real either but it seems like it could be at this moment.

          I walk upstairs to look at the bedroom I am going to be sleeping in and it is just as amazing as the downstairs is.  I just can’t wrap my head around all this.  I am standing at the balcony when Derrick comes up behind me and grabs my waist and hugs me tight.  I just melt into his arms and then I know what I have to tell him.  “Derrick?” I say.  He says “yes dear?”  “Will you sleep in here with me tonight?” I ask.  He just looks at me and you could almost see those lights coming on inside his head.  “Yes if you want me to I will,” he says finally.  “Since this is my first night here and I am not familiar with my surroundings I just feel safer with you near me.  I hope you don’t mind.” “No I don’t mind at all.  We don’t have to do anything if you don’t want to.  That is totally up to you and I will not pressure you into anything,” is his reply.  I just smile my sheepish smile at him and he walks out of the room.

          I finally come out of the room and walk downstairs to find Derrick at the stove cooking us a meal.  I almost forgot about food.  Now that he is cooking my stomach is growling at me.  He puts the plates and silverware on the table and brings out a bottle of wine and two glasses.  He sets it in a cooler with ice to chill it.  He tells me it will be about thirty minutes before dinner is ready.  I head into the living area and sit on the couch.  I didn’t realize I was tired because I must have fallen asleep when I feel him nudging me awake.  He says “dinner is served babe.”  I told him I would be right there.

          As I walked in the dining room he was pouring us a glass of wine.  He motioned for me to sit and he stood up and helped me with my chair.  This was an evening I would never forget.  He made steak with potatoes and green beans.  It looked so good.  I looked at the meal he had prepared and said “this looks very good.  It smells good too.”  I take a bite and I just want to savor the flavor it tastes so good.   “Wow that is some great tasting steak.”  “I’m glad you like it,” he said.  We sit there and enjoy our meal together. 

          We finish our meal and we take our glasses of wine and head out on the patio.  We sit down and we look out over the lake together.  The sun was setting and there was a beautiful view of purple and pink streaking the night sky.  The sun was a bright orange as it dipped below the surface of the water.  I leaned my head on his shoulder and he leaned down and brought my head up and kissed my lips.  We were both exhausted from the trip so we decided to head up to bed.

          He went to the bathroom and got a shower while I situated my clothes and picked out my pj’s from my bag.  As soon as he came out I went in to get my shower.  I took my towel, dried myself off, and then slipped my pj’s on.  I brushed my teeth before walking out of the bathroom.  I climbed in bed with Derrick who was already in bed waiting for me.  He looked so sexy lying there but I knew I had my mind set on not doing anything since it was our first night being in the same bed together.  I curled up beside him and he wrapped his arm around me and hugged me close.  Now this is the way to fall asleep.  Before I doze off he whispers to me “Goodnight sweetheart.  I love you and I always will.” I smiled as I heard him say that and I fell asleep nudged into his arm and his chest.
