Nothing is ever what it seems.
They never tell you how scary
the world actually is,
or that you are never ready for it.
No one will forever hold your hand
or tell you stories,
or to tell you how to live your life right.
As a child, we are told,
"Everything is okay."
And we never question it.
We don't ask,
"What about stresses?
Worries?"
Nothing.
As children, our nightmares
simply reflect glimpses of future realities,
but no one wants us to lose our
hopes and loves and our warm smiles,
so they tell stories.
To us, stories are adventures
of the imagination, filled with happiness, compassion, and creativity.
But stories are also distractions,
from what really haunts us.
Because, even though you always focus on your parents' stories,
you still see the evil shadows,
staring at you from behind them.
