"Dear Draco-
I'm writing to let you know how much I'm missing you-"I began to start my letter, but crumbled it up and threw it into the pile of other screwed up parchment that contained failed attempts of letters to my boyfriend. What on earth do I say to him? I sighed, if things hadn't changed so much we'd all be fine.
"Dear Draco-
I haven't been too well lately... I can't wait to see you-"Again... It just wasn't right. I sighed in frustration, why was it so hard to write to him? Maybe I was worried his parents may read it? Maybe I was just stressed. Soft hootings of an owl startled me. I whipped my head round to shout at Hedwig, but it wasn't even my brothers bird that was making subtle yet irritating noises down my ear. It was Blaise's great gray owl, the same one he always sends. Me and Blaise had been writing to each other practically everyday, it's kept me sane. I untied the letter from the owls leg and stole a couple of Hedwig's treats to give to his owl as it perched on the wardrobe, waiting for me to write out my reply. Hedwig nipped at my finger to show her distaste towards me stealing her food and I scoffed at her... She wasn't my pet, but I just loved her.
"Dear Chloe-
I spoke to mother, like we had planned, she's said she'd be delighted
to have you stay round for the weekend, along with Draco and Daphne.
Don't tell anyone this, but she refuses to let Crabbe, Goyle and pansy stay the night, not after the New Year's Eve party when I was 13...
I'll owl you some more specifics at a sooner date. For the meantime, hang in there!
Owl Draco and tell him our plan will you?
Love you Chloe!
-Blaise:)"I grinned at the parchment in front of me, with any luck I'd be escaping privet drive for a weekend soon. Blaise's owl hooted and clicked its beak at me, trying to make me hurry up. I got some parchment and wrote a short reply, it didn't need to be long because we're so up to date with what's been going on in each other's lives.
"Blaise-
Tell your mother I would find it an absolute pleasure to stay for a while
and I think she's an complete life saver! The Dursley's are driving
me utterly insane!
I'm planning to owl Draco using Hedwig whilst Harry's out, I also got my
Books taken from me by the Dursley's - I think they're punishing me
for continuously having a great big owl fly through our window
every day, but they'll come around.
Let me know more about coming round!
Can't wait to see you!
-Chloe"I gave the parchment to the restless owl and it took off into the night, it's body becoming a black figure against the sunset. I really could wait to get away for a while... To feel as though I fit in again.
"Potter!" Uncle Vernon's voice called up the stairs, followed by loud, thudding footsteps.
"What did I say about having that bloody pigeon coming in every night?" Vernon's face was red and he burst into the bedroom.
"It's actually an owl" I said calmly, addressing him as though he was a child.
"I thought you'd be a little more grateful" he sneered, his face screwing up, getting uglier and uglier... If possible "we feed you, accommodate you, allow you to return to they freaky school of yours and this is how you repay us?"
"Ah yes" I mocked a happy expression "the lovely single room that I'm forced to share with my brother at 14 years old"
It's true. Harry and I had to share a room. It was a very tight fit, with only a small walk way between our beds, a wardrobe and a desk. It was nice to have someone there whenever I had nightmares though. Cedric would always find a way into my dreams... Lifeless, cold... Dead.
