I sighed heavily as my alarm went crazy. I looked over and screamed right back. After burying my face into my pillow and silencing my literal hell, I groaned and got up. Today was going to be my first day at college.I pulled on an old band t-shirt with some skinny jeans and converse. I huffed at the mess that was my hair. Before I could fix it, my roommate, Kate, called for me.
"MAIYA! Get your ass down here for breakfast!" she yelled. A chuckle escaped my lips as I jogged down the hall.
"Yes ma'am. At your service!" I sent her a salute and sat down on a stool.
"What's cookin', good lookin'?" I asked, toying with a smile.
"Bacon, grits, and eggs. Now eat, fix the rat's nest on your head, and get out." She said and I shook my head at her.
"I'm not even that hungry." I whined with a frown.
"Oh no you don't. You're eating this if you like it or not." she said as she crossed her arms, shaking a piece of bacon at me.
I groaned and stuffed my face to my heart's content. After breakfast, I put my hair in a messy bun, said farewell, and began to put my suit cases in my car. Today was going to be a long day.
