(Aaron's P.O.V <3)
I felt the heat against my eyelids as I slowly drew back to the real world, but how? I should be dead from having stopped Zane. Then a thought hit me, if I'm alive Zane might be too. I shot up from the ground, instinctively grabbing for my sword, but it was not on the red, netherrack floor.
My head was fuzzy and I was confused by my location, I was in the Nether. Why? I looked around me and found myself behind the iron bars of a cage. On the other side there stood a dark shadowy form, the Shadow Lord growing stronger each day. I was uncertain of what to do, so I glared at the Shadow Lord.
"That is no way to treat your ancestor who saved your life," a deep voice echoed throughout the cave like room.
I continued my glaring, "And how do I treat the monster that stole the lives of millions?"
"That had to be done, besides I have still given lives to thousands," the ghostly form told me, "Including your beloved village."
That took me by surprise and it showed on my face, I wished I had my mask, " What do you mean you saved my village?"
"Only my descendants, but that was the majority of them."
"I don't believe you," I said after thinking about his tricks.
"Well I have one here to show you," he said as the shadowy form gestured towards the entrance.
In through the grand opening, a boy entered he was fully grown, but even from the distance I recognized my son. His once blue eyes glowed a bright red and he was dressed in the Shadow Knights uniform. Standing tall, he walked at a fast pace towards me.
I walked to the bars that contained me, "Jacob? It can't be this is a trick."
"It's not a trick," he said, "I am Jacob, just much older."
"Lily?" I asked, still stunned.
"Since she is not a descendant of Shad she couldn't be saved," Jacob said.
I felt my heart fall at this fact, "So I really did die and Zane is gone too?"
"Yes," Jacob answered.
"This means I am a Shadow Knight?" I asked, afraid of the answer.
Jacob nodded, "Yes, you are a full one because you are Shad's descendant."
I was a Shadow Knight, the thing we were fighting. It was a thing I had never wanted to become, I look down at my own body and saw the red uniform on me. Though I knew some were good and I could be too, but for now I had to get out of this cell and find a place to think.
"Can you let me out now?" I asked, impatiently.
The was a slight silence before the voice echoed through the cave, "Yes, you are not a prisoner you are our family."
Such a bright thing to say for such a dark being. Perhaps that is their motto, I thought as Jacob unlocked the cell. I stepped out and started walking to the exit.
I paused as I heard the ghostly being's voice, "Remain in the Nether it is safer."
Yup, I definitely wasn't a prisoner, I thought as I left the red room.
