Aaron's Chance

Chapter 2

(Aphmau's P.O.V)

I stood on the beach looking out at the water. On the way home from Hyria's we passed the hole made from the explosion, and the thought of Aaron and our child came to my mind. Lilith and the upcoming baby might never know or remember their father or father figure.

"What are you thinking about," Katelyn ask as she walks up to me, breaking me away from my thoughts.

"Aaron," I told her honestly.

She looked at me, "I might not have known him as well as you did, but he was a great guy and probably a great lord."

"I know," I said, "I just miss him."

"He would want you to continue on," Katelyn said as she saw tears welling in my eyes.

"I know," I said the common phrase again.

I heard footsteps behind me and turned around. Zoey and Isabelle were walking to us. Isabelle had Lilith in her arms.

"Mama," Lilith cooed in her sweet, innocent voice.

Isabelle came up to me and handed me Lilith, "She's been wanting to see you."

"Thank you," I looked at Lilith, "How have you been little Lilith?"

She continued cooing and saying some words she had learned. She was getting so smart and so big. I held her close to me as I listened to her stories of coos and words.

I remembered when Levan was like this and fifteen years later he is the Lord of Pheonix Drop. I felt a pain of sadness for missing his childhood. So much had happened since I was summoned here.

As my mind continued to wander I thought about what would happen if I wasn't brought to Pheonix Drop by Vlyad all that time ago. At least everyone was safe for now. We could at least rest for a few.

Lilith snuggled into my arms as she went to sleep. I loved her so much. We went back to where our house was and I laid her in her bed.

"Goodnight, Lilith," I said as I crawled into bed.

The morning would be here soon and I needed sleep.
