Chapter 3

Can we pretend that airplanes

In the night sky

Are like shooting stars

I could really use a wish right now (wish right now, wish right now)

Can we pretend that airplanes

In the night sky

Are like shooting stars

I could really use a wish right now (wish right now, wish right now)

I woke up the next day to Airplanes playing on the radio. I love that song a lot. I listen to it probably like every day.

I slept so great. I love my new room. It is so pretty too. Joan did a great job with the room too.

“Good morning baby.” Derek says with a smile on his face. He stands up and kisses me on the lips.

“Hey sweetie. Did you sleep well? I sure did.” I say smiling.

He nods his head and wraps his arms around my waist. He plants another kiss on my lips. I’m happy it’s just us here alone.

“Where’s Joan?” I ask as we pull away from our kiss.

“She had a very important meeting today with her work. She said she will be back by three. It’s one now. So, we have the house for two more hours alone.” Derek says smiling at me.

“Well, we can make lunch together.” I suggested. That is always fun making it with someone.

“Ok. We can make pasta and garlic bread.” Derek says. He rubs his stomach and licks his lips.

“Sounds like a plan.” I said smiling back at him.

We start to make lunch and everything is going smooth. Derek tells me he is going to get some garlic from the basement. I start to hear my cell go off. It’s the lyrics to Hey Monday’s I don’t wanna dance.

I don't wanna dance

So don't you ask me, babe

I don't wanna dance

You blew your chance

To rock my night away

I want some fun

Boy you're so not the one

I don't wanna dance

So let it go

You'll never take me home

Take me hoo-oo-oo-oo-oo-oo-ome

Take me hoo-oo-o-oo-ome

As soon as I finish singing the ending part Derek comes up behind me and scares the crap out of me.

“You jerk! That was not funny! I said slapping his forearm.

“Sorry sweetie. I just couldn’t resist. I had the perfect opportunity. When you have the right moment, you just have to do what you have to do.” Derek says apologizing to me. You can tell he’s sorry.

“It’s ok. It just really scared me.” I said looking at him with a stern look on my face.

I am so hungry. Lunch is almost ready to eat. We just have to pop the garlic bread in and wait until it cooks for a little bit. Then, we can eat! My stomach wants food so bad. I swear people from next door can hear my stomach growl.
