            Chapter 7

The last few hours shopping for new clothes have been really nice. I enjoy shopping. I have already gotten several bags of new clothes. I got some new shoes and jewelry and even some make up. Julie got some too. I am really enjoying this day.

            After leaving Macy’s it is at least four thirty. It has been a great day.  We also got out hair done and got manicured and pedicures. Julie takes me back to the restaurant so I can get my car. On the way back I get a text from my Mom.

“Abbey, I am so sorry. Your father and I got called back to work. We won’t be home for a while. We left you plenty of money for you in our money place. Please take it and use it for whatever you need. Once again, I am so sorry baby. We really wanted to spend time with you. I love you so much baby. I hope you forgive me. We love you so very much.

            Mom”

Tears come to my eyes as I try not to cry. I hate crying in front of friends. I’d rather go home and cry in my room. Julie pulls up and smiles at me.

            “There you go babe. I had a great day!” Julie exclaims with a happy look on her face.

“Thank you for dropping me off. I had fun too.” I say with a big grin on my face. She hugs me tight for a few minutes. I can tell she knows I am upset. I love her for not saying anything.

“No problem. If you need to talk call me. I will bring some movies and a tub of chocolate ice cream for us. We will eat and watch movies until you feel better. I love you girl. Never ever forget it.” Julie says patting me on my back. She makes me smile. I am so happy we are friends. She knows how to make me feel better about myself or any situation I am in. Good or bad, she is always there for me. No matter what, I can count on her.

            “I will call you if I need to. If I do, we might be up for a long time.” I say with a smile trying to cheer myself up.

            “It’s ok. I got time. I love you. See you around babe.” Julie says before she pulls off.

I go over towards my car. I have all of my stuff with me. I am so happy I got a new wardrobe though too. I can finally give my stuff away to Good Will. I am upset though. It’s just not fair. My parents always are working. But, I am glad I have Derek and his family.

            I make it home and honk the horn. I can’t carry this by myself.  Derek comes out of the house with a smile on his face. I smile at him and get out of my car.

            “Hey baby. How was your day?” Derek asks me with a smile on his face.

“Great. I had an amazing day with Julie. We got tons of stuff.” I say happily smiling.

            “I can see that baby. Did you like everything I did for you?” Derek asked me.

“No. I loved it.” I say. He takes the bags from my hands and grabs my hands and kisses me passionately. I wrap my arms around his neck and kiss him more. He leans me against my car and I am so happy. I get lost when he is with me. We pull away and he looks into my eyes as I look into his. I love his blue eyes. They are just simply amazing.

I could stare into them all day. They are so pretty and so piercing. I get almost hypnotized.

“Let’s get you inside sweetie. It’s cold out here.” Derek says grabbing my bags. We walk in the house and head to my room. I got some stuff for him too. So, it’s not all for me.

            He puts it down on the floor and smiles at me one more time.

“Did you get me anything?” Derek asks me. I can tell he wants me to answer with a yes.
