This was not my initial plan, but it will have to do. I cannot believe a dark water sprite was so bold as to attack the princess...my princess. Now she knows that there are other beings in her Aunts mansion, other than humans that is.I saw her for the first time,my princess, hiding behind bushes and trees. Verndari was stupid enough to not check the surroundings before calling me out of hiding. Verndari never was a very sharp river creature, handsome, just not that sharp. I was glad for verndari's idiocy for once, because I got to see her.
She was beautiful. I could see her blue eyes all the way from where I was standing. Her long brunette hair flowed around her, occasionally touching the freckles on her face. Her figure was slim and tall, almost as tall as I am. Even though she looked terrified, she was still magnificent to behold. If only she knew she had nothing to fear from me....
Verndari took an oath to be her protector, and he almost failed. I slammed my fist on the table beside me,just imagining what would have happened if she had been hurt. The kingdom would be in ruin, and I--I would Be in ruin as well. I don't know how,but she has enraptured me,body and soul, and I don't want to escape.
I am the leader of the fairy people until my princess is ready to become queen. That won't be any time soon with the way things are going now. First,I need to gain her trust, and make her fear of me go away. Only then can I fully protect her. Verndari already has his own woman to protect, and this seems to be too much for him. Kona is already a handful, with her wandering ways,he doesn't need my princess to worry about as well.
I have the army ready for battle, but we are at a standstill. Other than the dark water sprite attack, there have been no other sightings of the dark creatures. What are they waiting for? A sign?
The fairy people have been at war with the dark creatures for longer than I have been alive. My years however, are only the meager number of eighteen. Hardly old enough to be leading a people in war.
Too many of my dear friends have died before my eyes, and too many times I have come close to death. I am a lonely soul, and I desire a companion to keep the nightmares away in the night. Yet I had seen none that interested me,not until my princess appeared. The dark creatures are after her. If they destroy her, then all hope for our kingdom will be lost. She brings light and love to our land, and she does not even know it. Her mother and father were the previous rulers of our kingdom, until they tried to flee from the dark creatures. They were so close to escaping,so close to the end of the forest, but a dark goblin grabbed a hold of Queen Diana's ankle, dragging her,and the baby into the darkness. However,King Alexander went after the goblin and managed to wrench the baby and Queen Diana free, just before being slain by the goblin...
Queen Diana and the baby were able to escape because of my father, captain of the royal guard. He put them in the one place they would be safe...among the humans. Then after that,my father lead the fairy people, defending them until his death. By that time,I was only a lad of sixteen years. Yet it was my duty to honor my father in his death,so I lead my people after his demise.I will defeat the dark creatures, and I will protect my princess until I can do so no more.
