Becoming a huntress

Thalia's pov (skip to end if book 3)

I have to become a huntress. It's the only way to save the people I love. I think to myself as Percy, Annabeth, and I walk into Olympus.

We are here to discuss "Bessie" as Percy calls it and what to do about me becoming 16. It's been a tough day and now tough decisions must be made.

This adventure has costed us a lot. It cost us Bianca, Luke, and Zöe. I hate to admit I miss Zöe. No matter how much I hated her I really cared about her.

As Percy, Annabeth, and I step into the temple it's dead silent. All the gods and goddesses sit quietly awaiting our arrival. As I look around the first thing that catches my eye is Artemis nodding at me knowingly. I look at my father. He has a stern look on his face.

I swallow hard and hope no one sees how nervous I am. Artemis stands and begins the meeting. A discussion goes on about our quest, me turning 16, and Bessie.

"Father I would like to speak with you." Lady Artemis says to our father. He nods and she goes and has a quiet conversation with him. I looks over and Percy looks freaked out. He's staring at Annabeth in horror like she's gonna die.

Lady Artemis turns around and says "I would like a new lieutenant if she excepts." I looks around and see Percy is even more freaked. I look back at Artemis and a smile plays on her lips.

"Thalia the I'll you become my lieutenant?" She asks me simply. A smile appears on my lips. "Of course lady Artemis." My father speaks "Are you sure?" I nod "yes Father. I will become a hunter and stay 15 forever."

He nods at me in respect. I say the oath and then surprise everyone. I hug Percy. "Aren't you not supposed to do that?" He asks sheepishly. I smile and reply "I'm honoring a friend."

The meeting continues on the topic of Bessie. Athena point out all the problems and Percy speaks up against her. He states that Bessie is innocent and shouldn't be killed.

Poseidon vouches for Percy saying he won't let anyone kill Bessie. My father agrees and says as long as it stays on Olympus he doesn't care. Then the discuss Percy.

Athena automatically says he's a threat and should be dealt with accordingly. Poseidon stops her and the counsel votes to keep him alive. It's obvious she's upset but no one cares.

After the discussion the gods decides  to throw a  party. I stay away from the party. I see my friends socializing. Percy is speaking with Athena and Annabeth is dancing with a minor God.

A part of me feels sad. I'll miss these idiot. Before making her way to Percy, Annabeth walks over to me. "Hey.." She says quietly.

I smile softly. "Hey Beth." I say the secret nickname I gave her. She smiles sheepishly. "Thals I'm gonna miss you... I just got you back.." She says quietly, a tearing rolling down her cheek. I sigh and wipe the tear away.

"Beth." I say seriously "I'm not gone. I'm just going on a adventure. Anytime you need me I'll ask Lady Artemis if I can visit. " she smiles a bit. I smile back and wink. Tears still roll down her eyes as she hugs me tightly.

I run my hand through her soft blonde hair. Gods it's so soft. I stop myself. Thalia it's obvious she likes Percy. Don't do this to yourself. I let her go and have her go to Percy.

After the party Artemis and I leave to get me ready for the hunt. I look back one last time and smile. I'll miss them and they'll always be in my heart..
