Will it ever get better?

A/n: hello. It's been awhile. I suppose that I should get to updating. Trigger warning

Thalia's pov

It's been four months. Four months since Gaia was defeated. Four months since a hero was lost. Four months since Annabeth has smiled. I sigh thinking over the time.

I haven't left Annabeth's side since Percy died. She hasn't spoken, has barely eaten, and has terrible nightmares. She wakes up crying every night , the only thing that comes out of her mouth is "Thals!" As she screams and clutches and claws at her chest.

Every night I rock her back to sleep. Whispering sweet words in her ear. She falls asleep and only stays asleep if I have her in my arms. Her siblings keep asking if she's alright. Due to her screams at night, I had to move her from her cabin to a small cabin at the edge of the forest.

She never reads anymore, she doesn't play camp games. Piper asked if she'll ever get better. I had to tell her that I have no idea. It hurts me to see her like this.

"Thalia.." I hear a whisper from behind me. I look up and there stands Annabeth. She's crying and her arms are cut up. "Annabeth!" I say worried as I jump up and look at her arms. "What happened?" I ask examining her arms.

She sniffs "I can't handle it anymore..." she says quietly " I can't live without him." Then she bursts into sobs. I wrap my arms around her, then whisper "shhh. It's okay. I'm here." She looks up at me. Her grey eyes so lifeless and sad.

I caress her face. "Please don't die.." I whisper gently. A tear rolls down my cheek and Annabeth gasps. "Thals are you crying?" She asks shocked. I wipe my eyes , and regain composure "I'm fine." I say honestly

She looks at me and hugs me tightly. "I didn't realize I was hurting you Thalia." She says a little louder than normal. She looks at me, life back in her eyes. "Help me get better." I can only smile.
