Don't Judge

Don't judge me.

Don't judge me, please.

You don't see the things that I see.

Everyone shares their own self-pity,

Or they give in and start laughing.

You don't know my story,

You don't know my past,

All the scars that litter my skin,

Come from the pain that's within.

Alive but trapped within my mind,

Every little memory,

Is burned into me,

It's stuck on repeat,

It's my own little private show when I fall asleep.

The faces, the voices, the noises,

I hear and live it every day,

It's my own hell,

It's my price to pay.

My dear sister is gone,

Buried deep underground,

I was there,

A witness to it all,

A victim to it all.

It happened to me

I got to live and have a life,

But it's a cruel and unloving life,

Still, haunted by the memories.

So don't judge me,

For being this way,

Everyone can't feel the self-hatred,

And misery,

But one day,

You'll be broken,

Unable to heal,

Like me.

I don't mean to be rude,

But I don't need lies,

I don't need judgment,

Listen to me,

And maybe one day I'll tell you,

What happened.

Why it haunts me so much,

Why I don't want to be touched,

So please don't judge me,

You don't know,

Why I'm made of stone.

Don't judge me,

It hits through the skin,

Straight to the bone.

Don't judge me,

Cause I'm already broken,

Please leave me alone,

And let me grieve,

Soon my soul, like hers, will be free.
