X-men: Meet Z Jones

My First Mission(for reals)

I got to the infirmary in so much pain. I used my telekinesis to pull out the bullet, but that doesn't mean it didn't hurt.
'Dr. McCoy, I need some bandages.' I whispered into his mind.
He turned my way and saw the blood spilling through my hands.
"Right away."
Told me to sit on a bed. Then he came over with some rubbing alcohol. He placed it on the wound as gently as he could, but it still made me wince. After cleansing the wound, he bandaged the wound and sent me away to meet with my next mentor. As I was going, Logan walked past, pausing to say, "You used your powers."
'Once. Plus, the robot shot me in the back.'
"You still used your powers."
Before I could say anything back, he left my side. I, then, headed to my next class, Target Practice. It was located outside.

In target practice you...never mind. It's self explanatory. During target practice, Storm and I heard the alarm from the Institute ring. We ran into the Institute and saw a blue women causing chaos. She made eye contact with me and smiled.
"Looks like I found what I came for."she said. Then she stopped reeking havoc and charged towards me.

I knew her from somewhere. I just didn't know where. I had to act fast. When she tried to grab me, I took her hand and flipped her over.
"Fiesty one. Well, two can play at that game." She used her mutant ability to shift her appearance to look like me!
'Freaky.' I muttered in my head.
"Mystique!" Storm called, "Why are you here?"
"The girl. She has some unfinished business with me."
'I swear I have no idea what she's talking about.' I mentally said with my hands raised in innocence. Mystique lunged toward me claws drawn. I ducked but she teleported in front of me and clawed me in the face. Blood dripped from my face. I threw a mind wave at her, but she dodged it. She ran towards me, slid under me, and tripped me. I fell on my face. I saw Kurt in the corner of my eye, fighting off Mystique. Mystique then turned back into herself and ran out the door.
But before she left, she said, "Bye Z. I hope you don't forget."
And with that, she turned into an eagle and flew away.
"Vhat was that all about?"
I turned to see Kurt kneeling next to me. 'I don't know. But now I have to go back to the infirmary. Yay.' I teleported out of the room and to the infirmary.

'You wanted to see me Professor?' It's 5 p.m., 3 hours after the Institutes encounter with Mystique.
"Have a seat, Z."
I do as I was told.
"Now, I know you don't exactly know who Mystique is, but, you must know some. We need your help to find out what Mystique is planning."
'So what you're saying is that you're sending me on a mission!?'
"Yes. The team needs your mind and power to find Mystique."
'Awesome! Thanks Professor!'
"The team leaves in an hour."
I teleport out and in front of Bobby's dorm.
I bang on his door. 'Bobby!'I say mentally.
He opens the door and I give him a giant bear hug.
'Guess what?!'
"Shoot."
'I'm going on my first mission! Yay!'
"That's great! When are you leaving?"
'An hour. That gives me time to tell Kitty, Scott, Kurt, and Jamie!'
"Cool. Be safe, OK?"
'Kay.' I hurriedly walk down the hall, but I accidentally bump into Rogue and touched her arm. I wince in pain as she takes a bit of my powers. 'Sorry Rogue.'
'Don't mention it. Aww man! Now I'm speakin' in my head.'
I walk away from Rogue and down the wall to Kitty.
'Kitty! Kitty, Kitty, Kitty, Kitty, Kitty. Guess what!'
"Yeah?"
'I. Get to. Go on a mission!'
"Shut up! That's awesome!"
'I know! Booya!'
I give Kitty a high five and walk out the door. I teleport to Kurt's room and tackle him to the ground. 'Kuuuurrrtt! Guess what, guess what, guess what?'
"Vhat? Vhat?"
'I get to go on a mission! Yaaay!'
"That's great! Really! Be careful my little kätzchen."
I gave Kurt one last hug and went out. I go to Scott and Jamie, tackle and scream at them, then I get my suit from Professor X. I put on my suit and look at myself in the mirror. Not bad, not bad.

Now is the time for the mission. I teleport myself into the black bird. Jean, Beast, Professor X, Rogue, Cyclops, and Multiple all came in at different times. Beast took a seat as pilot while everyone got situated. Jean turned around in her chair and faced me. "Z, the Professor asked me to help you figure out where Mystique might be hiding, so I'm just going to look through your mind for clues, OK? Focus your mind on Mystique."
'Kay.'
Jean touches my head and closes her eyes, concentrating. I see images of Mystique taking me somewhere. A house. Then a warehouse. Then I see her abandoning me. I gasp, breaking Jean from the link.
'I know where she went.'

We get to the warehouse in 2 hours. I used my telepathy to hear if Mystique was in there.
'She's here.'
'Okay. I'll set up a telepathic link so she won't hear us coming.'
'Good.'
When we got to the door, I used telekinesis to open the door, trying to make as little noise as possible.
"Did you really think you'd get away with this?"
I stop in my tracks. Mystique knew we were here.
'What do we do?'
'Hmmm... I wasn't expecting Mystique to find out. Let me think of a plan.'
'Wait, Professor. I have a plan, but you might not like it.'

I walk into the warehouse. 'Mystique, I will help you with the unfinished business, on one condition...'
She raised an eyebrow.
'You let my friends go.'
"Ugh, fine. But it won't matter. Where you're going, they'll be in danger either way."
I stood next to Mystique. I quickly scanned her mind. But I went to far. Oh my god. I turn to see Rogue phasing through the wall. She sneaks up on Mystique and kicks her in the back.
'Sorry Mystique. It's not you it's me. Sike. It's all you.'
Rogue takes my hand and phases me through the wall. We get back on the black bird.
"Do you know what her intentions were?"
'Yeah. She was going to use me to break the Juggernaut out.'
"Good. I'm glad you chose X-men."
I also saw something else, but I decide not to tell them.

When we get back to the Institute, Kurt gives me a big hug.
"You're all right!"
'Yep. But I'm tried, so good night.' I teleport to my room and get under the covers, and I go to sleep.
