My mother somehow managed to keep me from getting charged with assault and battery, although I don't know how she did that. She only looked at me and frowned slightly whenever I asked, then said
" Why must you question such a miracle, as a matter of fact, anyone else would have been arrested, isn't it enough to be out of jail? " I only asked her a few times. Normally my mother wouldn't ever even look at me strangely, but when I asked that question, she would practically glare at me. To this day, I don't know why she was so sensitive about that particular subject. Whenever I think about it, I cannot unlink it from the fact that that day in the hospital was the last time anyone ever saw Kiara again. Even her parents never saw her again after their last conversation, in which they regretted what they had said to Kiara right before they left. They had told her that they wished that her mother hadn't run out of pills, and that she was a pathetic excuse for a daughter. I wish that I could find out if she was even alive, but I didn't think that there was a way to find out if she was alive, or if she had just become a ' Jane Doe ' corpse.
