"Stop complaining so much." Stephanie told me,"Just admit it that you enjoyed it."
I gave her a blank look.
"I would have enjoyed it if the girl next to me didn't keep on screaming Oh my god Niall look at me,I'm your future wife!" I mimicked the blonde girl who was sitting next to me during the concert and screaming so loudly that she damaged my eardrums permanently.
Stephanie chuckled.
"I think you handled it just fine when you told her that she wasn't worthy of being anyone's wife." She said.
I shrug. I tell people facts as I see them.
When Stephanie had held up those tickets two days back. I didn't know what to do. Run to the nearest airport perhaps. But then curiosity won. I mean come on what I don't get is how millions of girl fawn over this band. I mean there must have been something about them and I'm determined to find out.
Two days later Stephanie who looked absolutely gorgeous in a purple satin dress that I had given her. Yes of course I had given her a proper gift. I wasn't that bad. I was wearing a dress too. I had never been one of those girly girls who wear those amazingly pretty dresses. I am more like a simple black dress with a bit of mascara and lipgloss. It has worked just fine for me all these years.
So there we were in the concert. Despite being quite far back I could yet see the stage perfectly when we arrived. It was huge with spot lights dancing all over it. I can't help but give out a bit of a gasp.
It had always been my dream to be a singer for as long as I can remember. It hadn't been as much for the fame or the money as much as it had been for the singing. When people asked me what I wanted to do when I grew up I would always give them a big toothy grin and say a singer.
My brother always used to return that smile and say that he would be my number fan. Ten years later my brother is gone but my dream to become a singer hasn't. The only thing that stands between what I want is my surname. The "family legacy" I have to carry on and that means going to business school and simply singing in the bathroom or perhaps on my way to classes.
So when the opening act of the one direction steps on stage I stand on my tip toes. The huge screen enlarges her pretty face. She is small with dark brown hair and green eyes. She looks petite and pretty as she starts singing i tune off and just start thinking what it must be like to be on that stage in front of millions of fans .
"That's Alison Bronson." Stephanie informs me," Was a very good friend of the boys in X Factor. It's her last show today. Apparently she got in a huge fight with the new manager,Lucy Lynch and was kicked out."
I absent mindedly nod not listening to what she says. The crowd cheers as she says thank you and steps off stage once her song is over. Just when I am about to think maybe the concert isn't going to bad enough the crowd starts cheering.
They all stand and I'm unable to see anything due to my short height. So I give up sink into my seat hoping that the noise doesn't give me too big a headache.
It had been two hours since then. We were currently standing in a huge queue waiting in line to get an autograph. I protested at first but I had to make it up to Stephanie so I stood there.
Now no one said I would do it quietly. So I started complaining about everything. The heat, the noise hoping that Stephanie would finally give up and we could go home. But I forget that Stephanie is one of the most patient people I know.
"Oh my god!" A girl in front of us sequels,"Can you believe it we are so close to them that we are probably breathing the same air as them."
I face palm myself and try my best not to respond with a snarky comment but I'm distracted by a professional lady who passes by us followed by three girls. I have no idea who the three girls are but e crowd goes wild and starts screaming.
"Who are they?" I ask Stephanie.
"The lady was Lucy Lynch." Stephanie says,"She is their new manager mainly focusing on advertising and promoting them. They do have another manager called Paul but he has a lot on his plate so Lucy is in charge of them."
"What about the girl with the purple dip dyed hair ?" I ask.
"That's Jade Adams." Stephanie tells me,"Zayn Mallik's girlfriend."
I give her a blank look.
"The one who according to you who has too much hair gel in his hair." She says.
I nod vaguely recalling his dark black hair and angular features.
"The girl with the freckles and brown hair is Cora Riles." Stephanie says as we move ahead,"Professional dancer. She is Harry Styles's best friend. They have known each other forever. People think it's only a matter of time before they are official."
"Who is Harry Styles again?" I ask,"The one who likes to wear stripes?"
"Nope." She said popping the 'p',"He is the one who needs to put more hair gel."
I try to picture the huge poster I hade seen of them recently and easily recalled the curly haired boy with huge dimples.
"Last but not the least is Ash." Stephanie said,"The blonde with the blue dip dyed hair. She is probably the most popular among us fans because she was just like us. Waiting in line to get an autograph when Louis the boy who wears stripes noticed her. He gave her his numbers and they have been going strong two years ago. It's the perfect Fairytale for each and every girl who waits in this line."
"Yeah well I don't believe in fairy tales." I say just as we reach the front of the line.
