"So, what did you and 'short-dark-and-broody' talk about?" Spencer teases popping a bean in her mouth. "Oh thank god, it's tutti-frutti."

Riley giggles. "It's Maya and nothing really. She just asked about my back." Spencer hums and adjusts herself on Riley's bed. She glances over at the empty bed that Maya should be in.

"Where she at anyway?"

Riley shrugs and picks at her blanket. "She said Woods wanted her to stay at the ship tonight. Early morning training, doesn't want her to be late."

"Doesn't she like always have a morning practice?"

Riley rolls her eyes and looks up. "9 is not early Spenc and she has training at 6-"

"6?! What the fuck?" She nearly jokes on her candy and shakes her head frantically. "Damn, why is Lucas even competing." Riley nods lightly before falling back on the mattress. They're the only two in the dorm, everyone in the common room, celebrating the victory over Gryffindor. Usually they would be in there too, but Riley just feels like her whole body is bruised and just wanted some time away from all the loud noises. Spencer offers her some beans and Riley prays she doesn't get vomit flavored. The silence between them isn't unwanted, it's comfortable, it gives Riley's head a minute to think and hear herself.

Blue eyes filter into her mind. Those sharp eyes could cut through steel and yet, there's something so sincere and oddly soft about them.

"-in my books." Riley slightly jumps and shoots Spencer a confused look. Spencer rolls her eyes and raises an eyebrow and shrugs. "Maya, she's alright in my book. She protected you and went after Lucas. Good choice in crushes." Now it's Riley's turn to nearly choke on the jelly beans.

"C-crush?" She gets out frantically. Spencer just smirks as Riley tries to catch her breath. She just had to get earwax flavor. "N-no! I-I barely even know her! No-just no." She hates that look the red head gives her. That stupid grin, like she knows something Riley doesn't. "Stop! No. I-I don't have a c-crush."

Spencer hums and rolls off Riley's bed. "Alright kiddo, whatever you say."

Sometimes she really dislikes Spencer.

Riley's feet drag slowly behind her. Getting up this morning seemed impossible, moving from class to class was worse.

"What do you guys even learn in that class?" Riley is startled by the new presences next to her. A soft smile stretches on her face seeing Maya walking next to her, hands behind her back and head high. Riley likes the way her blue eyes are on the constant move, always looking for danger. Riley finds it cute in an odd way.

"Which one?"

"The one we just came out of." She nods her head behind them. Her eyes not meeting Riley.

"Defense Against the Dark Arts?" Riley shoots her a puzzled look. "Well, the name kinds says it all-"

"But that's not real defense." The words come out quick and clipped, she's on guard.

Riley rolls her eyes and leads them outside. "Well, it's no Durmstrang, but it's not like we're going into battle," Riley glances over to the blonde, "although from the way you're acting we might as well be." She catches the small smile and Riley feels like it's a victory.

They wander around outside in silence, the weather slowly changing to a more cooler temperature. Something about the October air intensifies Riley's already bubbly aura. It makes her feel lighter and fills her with a warmth that she can't place. It's all a nice feeling, the air, her and Maya walking around, it's nice.
