*Michael's POV*
Aubrey grabbed my hand, causing me to turn around. She wants me to stay? Of course I will I'm just surprised that's all. I guess I should say something before she thinks I don't want to be here.
"Are you sure?" I ask her. Woohoo, nice one Jackson.
"Yes. I would feel more comfortable if you stayed here with me. You can bring Bo here too so he's not alone." She says stepping closer to me. After all this time, this woman still does things to me.
"Okay. Why don't you go see what Cody's doing and I'll go get Bo." I smile at her and lead her downstairs. I kiss her cheek softly before jogging over to my house. I collect Bo and some things for him to sleep on and toys to keep him occupied.
"Come on buddy, we're staying with Aubrey tonight." I say to him and he shoots up, wagging his tail. Wow I guess he really likes Aubrey. I make sure I lock up and turn around to see Bo has already sprinted to Aubrey's. I couldn't help but chuckle as I walk back over.
I walk inside Aubrey's house to see she's sitting on the floor in the living room cuddling Bo, what a cute sight. Cody's flicking through channels on the tv, I go and sit across from Aubrey.
"Well Bo doesn't waste any time!" I chuckle.
"Nope! I think he was excited." Aubrey giggles while playing with Bo. Bo lays his head in her lap.
"I'm starting to get the feeling he loves you more than me!" I laugh, Bo looks at me. I stick my tongue out at him.
"Don't say that!" She giggles then leans down and kisses the side of Bo's head.
"Such a friendly dog!" Cody chimes in, bending down to pat Bo. Bo wags his tail, clearly loving the attention.
"He's always friendly with people he likes." I smile. I look over at Aubrey who's staring at Bo with such love.
"Well I suppose I'll get out of your hair. I have work early anyway so if I don't get enough sleep I'm not going to be a fun person to work with!" Cody laughs. We say our goodbyes and he heads home.
"So what does Miss Chambers want to do tonight?" I ask her, smiling.
"Hmm. How about play some board games?" She asks then looks up at me.
"Sure!" I wait while she grabs some board games from a shelf. She sets Monopoly in front of me, let the arguments begin.
We start playing and we were both having fun. We did argue about some of the properties though, she didn't like the fact I had hotels on the most expensive coloured properties. Every time she would land on one she would roll her eyes and I would laugh. Eventually she went bankrupt.
"Not fair! I don't know how but you cheated!" She laughs then pouts.
"No I was just strategic." I couldn't help but laugh at the cute pout she had. She pokes her tongue out at me.
"Don't worry. I'll kick your ass in Scrabble!" She smirks while grabbing out Scrabble. Oh it's on.
We begin playing and well let's just say she was right. She definitely kicked my ass, there's no coming back from this. When we ended the game she was feeling pretty good about herself. We then had dinner that Cody made us before going home, it was Carbonara. Possibly the best Carbonara I have ever had! It was getting late so I walked Aubrey to her room.
"You should get some sleep. You had a big day today. I'll make you some breakfast in the morning." I smile at her and then lean in to give her a hug. I wrap my arms around her waist, she wraps her arms around my neck. I didn't want to let go.
"I just want to say thank you for everything. And that I'm sorry for the way that I have treated you...I don't know what I would do without you." She says before pulling away and looking up at me.
"I'll always be here for you. No matter how much you piss me off and push me to the edge. I'm not going anywhere, I never want to let you go ever again." I admit while looking into her eyes. She gives me a warm smile, then kisses my cheek softly.
"Goodnight, Michael." She says.
"Goodnight, Aubrey." I reply before going into the guest room next to her room. I change into black boxers and black pyjama pants, not bothering to wear a shirt. I get settled in and sigh. What a day.
For a while I stared at the ceiling, thinking how everything has changed over the last 24 hours. In a way I'm glad things happened the way they did, because I got Aubrey away from that scum bag, but at the same time I hate that everything happened because he hurt her. I guess there was no way to prevent that. I roll onto my side and close my eyes. Just as I was about to fall asleep I hear the door open, I felt the bed sink behind me. I then feel someone's face pressed against my back and their arms wrap around me. I turn over and see Aubrey in bed with me.
"Are you okay, Aubrey? What's wrong?" I ask her with concern.
"I couldn't sleep. I thought I would feel safer and could sleep better being here with you." She says looking at me. I smile.
"Aww okay." I coo before laying flat on my back. She lays her head on my bare chest, resting her hand on my chest as well. I wrap one arm around her and hold her hand resting on my chest with the other. I slightly lift my head so I can kiss her forehead.
I can feel her smile against my chest. I let out a big sigh of relief, I never want this moment to end. I have the most beautiful woman in my arms, wanting to be in my arms to feel safe and to feel better. This is like heaven to me, I don't want morning to come. I don't fall asleep until she does, once I hear her soft breathing I know she's fallen asleep. I smile and close my eyes, slowly drifting to sleep.
