Chapter Two: Marshall's Point of View
I saw Fionna with a few tears slipping down her dirt-covered cheeks. I snuck in her house a few minutes ago through her backdoor... this place always seemed so depressing. When was the last time she had decided to take care of herself?!? I regret not watching over for a week...
Her blonde curls were in tangles around her, threatening to go past her ankles. Her azure eyes... those pretty orbs I loved so much... they were glazed, saddened, almost empty somehow just like they had been for the past two days. Her clothes and face, covered in a layer of dirt. Her soft rosy lips that I longed for, chapped and bleeding. But what hurt me the most, were those bandages I had wrapped around her wrists. I could smell her blood sweet smell, like it were fresh. 'Oh Fi...'
"Hey Fionna." I said, sitting next to her against the wall. I gave her my usual playful smirk that used to make her face lighten up. I gave her a small hug, placing her bunny hat beside her. "I got you your hat Fi..." I added softly, rubbing some dirt off her bandanged cheek. I sighed and looked down, blinking some tears away. 'I miss her so much...' I thought, expecting the usual blank stare from her empty eyes while I tried staying cheerful for her and made sure she didn't die on me. But... I recieved something different.
I felt her warm arms wrap around me, causing her hair to cover me almost like a blanket. "Hey Marshall..." she whispered. I nearly choked. She...She finally spoke?!?! "F-Fionna..?" I asked, my voice cracking as my long due tears fell from my cheeks. I buried my head in her hair as I hugged her tightly. "I missed you."
