When I had reached the border of the Lonestar Pack's territory I pulled into a gas station where I turned the engine off and let out a sigh of relief. I called Connor to let him know that I was close by, that way they could come out and meet me.

"Jamie?" Connor answered the phone on the third ring.

Hey Con, I wanted to let you know that I am at the Chevron gas station just outside your territory."

Wow, you made good time to get here fast. Did you sleep at all on the way?" He asked with concern. "Lisa and I should be there in a half hour or so. I can't wait to see you. Cya soon Cuz!"

"I'm gonna take a nap til you get here," I replied before hanging up the phone.

I made sure the doors were locked, put the seat down and went to sleep. There was a loud knock on the window which made me to jump. I turned and glanced out the window and there stood Connor laughing his butt off. I unlocked the door and climbed out of the car.

"Don't scare me like that! You could give someone a heart attack doing shit like that." I slapped Connor before pulling him in for a hug.

"I'm sorry man but that was priceless. I sure have missed you and I'm glad that you made it here safely. No one gave you any problems did they?"

I was able to drive straight through. I only stopped for gas and snacks. Now where's Lisa? I want to say hi to her."

"She's in the car waiting for us to finish catching up. Do you think your parents know that you left yet?

"Nah, they aren't due to return until Monday. Josh and his group were still taking their finals when I left," I told Connor while walking over to his car to see Lisa.

"Hey Lisa! How've you been?"

"Hey Jamie! I'm good. Glad you made it safely." Lisa exited of the car and pulled me into a hug.

"Alright everyone, let's get the show on the road. Jackson is anxious to meet this awesome cousin of ours," commented Connor with a smirk.

We all climbed in our separate cars and headed off to my new home. I couldn't believe that I was finally free of Josh, Mary and that entire pack, I wished that things could have been different with my parents, maybe one day it will be but I doubted it.

After crossing the pack territory line I admired the beauty that was all around me, central Texas has a lot of beautiful landscape and I anticipated exploring that land around my new home. Don't get me wrong, Louisiana has parts that are absolutely breathtaking, but there was something about the landscaping here in Texas.

After about an hour of driving we pulled into a gated community on the outskirts of Corsicana. We pulled up to this huge house with people milling around. Everyone stopped and stared at me as I stepped out of the car. If I wasn't nervous before, this only made me more nervous.

Lisa came over to me, gave me a side hug, and whispered in my ear, "Don't be nervous, they're only staring to see who the new guy is. Connor has informed anybody who would listen that you were coming and how great you are."

"Great, no pressure," I chuckled. "Now I've gotta live up to the hype that Connor has built up about me."

"You're right, there's no pressure because you're a great guy and they'll be able to see it for themselves. Be yourself and it'll be fine," replied Lisa as Connor walked over to join us.

As Connor reached the two of us, I could smell this incredible smell of pine and chocolate.

"Do you guys smell that? " I asked Lisa and Connor.
