Ace's POV.

Ace had been fixing cars the whole morning and no one came to help him as he had ordered so.

They all had excuses.

Pussy excuses.

He was now more irritated than ever.

Ace could barely lay down under his car, his torso and stomach were hurting him.

Making him groan every time he made hasty movements.

Ace's father beat him up yesterday night. The old man had drunk too much. Again.

Ace was used to it, but this time had been rougher than usual.

Sometimes he wondered if one day he could escape from the hold his father had on him.

Of course not.

He was doomed. Ace would die here in Castle Rock, killed by his father or beat to death by another gang.

There was nothing he could do. No one could save him, not even himself.

Leaning against the passenger door, Ace was lost in his thoughts.

And he hated it.

The rush of nicotine that would always calm his nerves was not enough today. He placed the cigarette between his fingers and bit his lower lip, trying to contain the imminent rage that was boiling inside him.

Fucking morons.

As if he had not enough problems already, he saw her with them two days ago.

The Russian girl with those stupid kids.

Ace was not used to being ignored. Usually, he would always get all the girls he wanted.

Because they would always come to him first.

Intrigued by his coldness and by the way his smirk could be charming and vile at the same time.

And the Russian girl chose to reject him? For them?

He couldn't let that happen.

With that, he also had one more excuse to brutalize the Chambers kid and his little friends.

But Milana was rich, and Ace was pretty sure that she was also arrogant and snobbish. He couldn't stand that. He despised those girls. But he couldn't deny that she was so mysterious, the Cobras' leader wanted to know all of her secrets. Her mystery attracted him like a magnet.

Eyeball would come in less than a hour now, Ace had some times to rest on his couch. He was actually living in an old house, which could be actually nice if he cared. He had better things to do than decorating.
He left his parents' home two years ago. There were so much conflicts between his father and him, he had stopped counting them ever since he was ten. Ace had to leave as soon as possible or he would have killed him. And he didn't want to hurt his mother. His life was much better now that he could do everything he wanted to without being beaten up. No one could prevent him from being the biggest and meanest asshole in Castle Rock now.
