the distance between then and now is often constituted by the time between those two points. a few seconds ago, you started reading this sentence, that was then. now, as your eyes scan these lines with careful precision, the distance between now and then seems nonexistent. the measurements of time that pass as your heart pumps blood and your lungs inflate and deflate are seemingly insignificant. what you don't think about is how many times your heart will pump and your lungs inflate until they cease to do so. it's going to happen, you and I both know it. the absurdity of time stems from the simple existence of you and I.
