Hey people! I finally decided on a name. I named it after one of my favorite songs, Spanish Romance. Spanish Romance is a song that was played by a man when he wanted to woo a woman. The reason I choose this was because Cairo has always wanted a Spanish Romance and she is in fact Spanish.

Episode 5

Cairo's POV

When I woke up the next morning, Seth was nowhere in sight. I noticed a note on my nightstand. I reached over to grab it. The handwriting was very neat.

Morning, Love. Sorry I wasn't there. I had to get ready for class. Matt will come to escort you down to the cafeteria. He's my personal guard. From now on he will also be your guard. I'll see you at breakfast.

I went through my regular Friday morning routine. Today I went with a black camisole top, denim shorts with a dark purple belt, black faux fur boots that went a few inches below my knees, and a large purple hooded jacket that was longer than my shorts. I don't mean I was wearing incredibly short shorts. I meant my jacket was ten times my size. I left my hair down again and donned my favorite black and white New York baseball cap. I had decided to forego the makeup this time. After I was finished getting ready and dragged Nala's lazy butt out of bed, someone knocked on the door. I answered and saw the same boy from lunch yesterday leaning against the door frame. "Uh, may I help you?" His blue eyes snapped up to me and he immediately straightened up. He did a curt bow then said, "The prince has sent me to retrieve and escort you to the cafeteria." So this was Matt. Why did he bow? Is it because I'm the prince's girlfriend? I'm going to have to get used to all this special treatment. "Um, ok, sure. Just let me go grab my stuff." "Of course, ma'am." I gave him an odd look. No one ever called me ma'am. Come to think of it, no one's ever really been polite to me, save for Nala and Seth. I hope this isn't going to become a regular thing. Doubt it. On that depressing note, I fetched my messenger bag and trotted out the door.

We walked in silence as he led me out of the girl's dorms. In case you were wondering boys and girls are allowed in the dorm buildings just not in the actual dorm rooms. I didn't like awkward silences between people and try to avoid them as much as possible, so I tried to strike up a conversation. "So, you're Seth's guard?" "Yes. His majesty and I go way back. We grew up together in the castle. I owe him so much. That's why I became his royal guard." What's with this guy? He wasn't this formal before. The first time I met him, I thought he was a play boy joker. Not someone who took things seriously. "Does that mean you're like his best friend or something?" "Yeah I guess you could say that." The rest of the walk was quiet. I didn't think to ask any more questions. Once we arrived at the cafeteria, all activity ceased and all eyes were on us. I shifted uncomfortably under their stares as we approached the center table where Seth, Alec, and Vidia were already sitting. I took the empty seat next to Seth and looked down. The ground had suddenly become very interesting. "So Cairo, Looks like my little brother finally made his move, huh?" Alec's voice startled me into looking up. My face heated up slightly. How did he know about me and Seth? Did he tell him last night? Seth became irritated by his brother's teasing. "Leave her alone, Alec. She doesn't like the attention. Can't you see she's already uncomfortable enough as it is?" "Alright, alright, chill already. No need to get upset. I just wanted to get to know my future sister-in-law better." If I could have seen my face, I'm sure it would have been tomato red. Seth was blushing as well, but not nearly as much as me. Vidia growled slightly. I wasn't sure if the others heard, but what I was sure of was that the entire cafeteria heard Alec's little comment. I'll never be able to live this down! Won't Nala be happy to hear the rumor that I'll be marrying the second prince? That's right. I haven't told her about Seth yet. If she hears it from someone else, she'll "never" forgive me. Note the quotation marks on never. That's the thing with Nala. She always forgives, but never forgets. Seth glared at his brother who merely looked at him innocently. "Well you're one to talk. I heard you proposed to Nala last night!" Alec's eyes were the size of dinner plates. "How did you know that?!" Smirking, Seth replied, "I have my sources." Alec snapped his attention to me. I held up my hands. "Hey, don't look at me," I defended. "Oh that's right. You weren't in our room all night. I wonder where you could have gone," Alec said knowingly. All around us, vampires were whispering, gossiping about Alec and Nala's engagement and Seth's new mysterious girlfriend that no one knows. Gee, I wonder why they don't know me. The warning bell rang and the students started to disperse. I got up to leave, but was stopped by Seth holding my wrist. "Hey Cairo, wait." I turned to him and smiled at him, telling him I was listening. "I was wondering, since tomorrow's Saturday and all, would you like to go on a date with me?" My face tinted a light shade of pink. I had never been on a real date before. "Sure, I'd love to." He let out a sigh of relief as if he expected me to turn him down. Why would I say no? I am his girlfriend after all. He grinned and replied, "Great, I'll pick you up at noon tomorrow." I smiled and nodded. He insisted on walking me to my first period class and I obliged. I tried to tell him he didn't have to, but he just said he wanted to. Before he left, he gave me a chaste kiss, earning a few wolf whistles and cat calls from the passing spectators. I blushed and quickly took my usual seat in the back of the class room. Classes went by fast and lunch was a bit hectic. Nala had already heard about my little escapade with Seth yesterday. Apparently, someone had caught us in a heated lip lock and went off to tell the entire school. After a long lecture of I told you so's, lunch was over and so was school.

Classes had been canceled that afternoon. Nala had decided it would be a good opportunity to shopping for a decent outfit for my date. According to Nala, my current wardrobe was "too dark for a prince". He's the friggin' prince of vampires. How could my taste in clothes be too dark for him? It's probably just an excuse to take me shopping. That girl would do anything to get me to a store. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate shopping. I'm just always broke. Luckily, I had been saving up my last few paychecks. As soon as we made it to the mall, I made a beeline for Hot Topic, but that dream was quickly squashed when Nala dragged me over to Forever 21. It wasn't a bad store. They had a few cute things that suited my taste. After spending endless hours in a dressing room, Nala finally agreed to let me buy an outfit that satisfied the both of us. "Finally we can go home!" "Not so fast, Cairo. There's still the matter of shoes." I groaned loudly and trudged begrudgingly after Nala into the nearest shoe store. Many, many hours later, Nala had found the perfect shoes for me and bought me some matching accessories and got me a manicure and had my hair done, with some very nice red highlights might I add. At last we returned to our dorm and I collapsed on my comfortable bed. It didn't take long for me to zonk out.
