Angelo shook his head, running through the rain. He let out a small whimper when he fell onto the ground. He pushed himself up, leaning against the wall. He quickly stumbled to his shop, unlocking the door. He frowned at the now clean shop. He moved the counter, picking up a sticky note.

I might have come back and cleaned your shop for you.

~Chris

Angelo blushed at the note, folding the note and putting it in his pocket. He jumped the door opening.

"Angelo." Chris chuckled, placing a hand on Angelo's hip.

"Th-thank you." Angelo mumbled, looking down at the floor. "You didn't have to. How did you get in?"

"I have my ways." Chris chuckled. "Do you have plans today?"

"No." Angelo chuckled, looking up at Chris. "Why?"

"Wanna go somewhere with me?" Chris asked, tucking Angelo's hair behind his ears. Angelo blushed, nodding his head. "Come on then." Chris grabbed Angelo's hand pulling him out the shop.

"Where are we?" Angelo asked, his eyes wide as he looked around at the park.

"You've never been here?" Chris asked, frowning down at Angelo. He slowly shook his head, looking at the ground.

"I've never really visited this side of town." Angelo murmured, crossing his arms.

"Oh." Chris frowned, lifting Angelo's face up. "I want to know more about you. Will you tell me about you?" Angelo bit his lip.

"I don't know what you want to say. I'm not that interesting." Angelo murmured. Chris smiled down at him, shaking his head. "What?"

"Were you born here?" Chris asked. Angelo slowly nodded, Chris walking them to a bench and sitting on it. "Why haven't you ever been here?"

"My momma worked a lot. We never really had time to go anywhere. My momma always wanted a coffee shop, but never could truly afford one so I got her one about ten years ago." Angelo smiled to himself, looking down at his lap. "She was so happy."

"Really? Where is she?" Chris asked. Angelo's smile fell, biting his bottom lip. "What's wrong?" Angelo shook his head, closing his eyes.

"Nothing happened." Angelo sighed. "It's what did happen." Chris nodded, letting the subject drop. He gently kissed Angelo's cheek, smiling down at him. Angelo blushed, covering his cheek. Chris huffed as his phone went off, quickly answering it.

"He what?!" Chris yelled, standing up. Angelo frowned, looking up at Chris. "I'm busy." Chris growled, looking back at Angelo. "How important?... Alright." Chris sighed, handing up. "Angelo, I have something important to do."

"Okay." Angelo sighed, standing up. "I had fun."

"That's good." Chris murmured, cupping Angelo's cheek. "Let me take you home."

"It's okay. I have to go somewhere." Angelo smiled at him. "I think I can walk from here."

"No no no. Please let me take you. I don't want you walking out there. It's dangerous out here alone." Angelo bit his lip, nodding his head.

"This is the place?" Chris asked, looking at Angelo. He slowly nodded, opening the door.

"Thank you." Angelo mumbled, quickly leaving Chris and heading into the retirement home.

"Angelo. Your mom is in her room with a chess board. She's been talking about you visiting all day." The receptionist said, smiling Angelo. Angelo quickly headed to the well known room, smiling at his mother who was sitting at the chess table. He sat across from her, placing a hand on top of hers.

"Hey momma." Angelo smiled at her. She slowly looked up, a smile forming on her worn face.

"Angelo. How was school?" Angelo's smile faltered for a mere second, before quickly making some story about school. "Have you met any nice boys?" She asked, slowly moving a white chess pawn. Angelo slowly moved his own.

"Yes I did momma. He's really nice."

"What is his name Angelo?" She whispered, the piece falling from her hand. Angelo quickly caught it before it fell to the floor.

"Chris." Angelo blushed at the thought of the taller man. "We went on a date yesterday."

"Angelo, it's time for her medicine." A nurse whispered, placing a hand on Angelo's shoulder. Angelo nodded, standing up and helping his mother stand. She barely reached his shoulders.

"Come on momma." Angelo whispered, kissing her forehead. The tiny, frail woman leaned against her son as they walked through the building. He gently sat her down in a chair, letting the nurse give her her medicine. "How is she?" Angelo whispered, biting his lip.

"She's doing very well considering her condition. She gets moments of clarity very often." The nurse smiled at him. "Every time you come back she automatically remembers you. Even if she thinks you're still in high school, but considering the time of the accident this isn't odd."

"Yeah." Angelo chuckled. "It was our happiest times though, and I'm kinda happy she doesn't remember the accident."

"Would you like to take her to her room? The medicine tends to make her tired." Angelo nodded, smiling at her.

"Time for bed already?" Angelo nodded, tucking his mother in. He gently kissed her forehead. "Be good at school."

"I will momma. I promise." Angelo whispered, his voice cracking. "I will be good."

"Bring that nice boy tomorrow." She mumbled.

"I promise momma. I'll bring Chris soon."
