That was the first time they had ever cut school. The duo walked out of school, hand and hand, got into Mark's punch buggy, and drove to the hospital.

Mark was speeding well above the limit. Even more nerve racking, he only had one hand on the wheel. The other was holding Jack's. Mark was crying. Crying harder than Jack had ever seen anyone do so. Jack took notice and started squeezing Mark's hand.

"It's okay, Mark."

"No it's not," His voice shaking as he spoke.

"She's going to be all right," Jack said.

"What the hell do you know, Jack? For all I know, she's already dead!" He practically screamed at Jack.

The truth was, Jack didn't  know. Though, he did understand how Mark felt. His grandmother had recently passed. The drive wasn't much longer. They found a place to park, and ran to the check-in desk.

"We're...to...s-see, L-Lola F-Fischbach," Mark said, crying and out of breath.

"Room 208, second floor," The lady said.

Jack led Mark to the elevator and pressed 2.

"Jack," Mark said, "What if she's not okay?"

Jack didn't answer. Instead, he pulled Mark into a warm embrace. They stayed like that until the doors opened.

"206, 207, 208." Jack said.

He knocked on the door. Mark's older brother, Tom, opened it up.

"Hello," Jack said. "Is this Lola's room? Lola Fischbach?"

"It is." Tom noticed that Mark was holding Jack's hand. They had never let go. "You must me Markie's new boyfriend ." He said, putting emphasis on the last word. Mark just blushed.

"Mark," His mother said, as they walked into the room.

Jack quickly let go of his hand so Mark could hug his mother.

"Who might you be?" Mrs. Fischbach asked.

"Sean McLoughlin. But please, call me Jack."

"Nice to meet you Jack. I'm assuming you're one of Mark's friends," She said.

"More like boy-friend," Tom whispered, loud enough that his mother couldn't hear, but Jack could.

"Yes Ma'am," He said, ignoring Tom.

"Thank you for coming with him. He might need it," She said.

At that moment, Lola said, "M...M...M-ark, T...T...T-om," She had a bandage around her head.

The two boys ran over to their Nana and held her hand. "Nana," Mark said. "I love you."

"I love you too," Tom said.

"Me too," Said Mark's mother.

"I love all of you, so much," She said.

Her heart beats were staggering. She told the boys to leave so she could be alone with her daughter.

"Lily," She said, "I could not be more proud of the woman you have become. Or the family you have raised,"

"Thank you," She said. "I love you, so much,"

"As do I," Lola said.

Lily was crying. "Goodbye, mommy." She said.

"Goodbye, Lily."

Lilly kissed her mother's forehead and turned to walk out the door.

"Oh, and Lily, bring in Tom. Mark last,"

"Always, Mama,"

Lily walked out. She told her sons to say their goodbyes, and in what order. Tom walked in, and about five minutes later, came out crying. It was Mark's turn.

"Good luck," Jack said, and hugged Mark.

He walked into the room.
