lisa's pov

"uh, i guess we'll click start?" amisha said, as we huddled to her side, watching her click the button.

maria flinched as she pressed the button, as something was soon to happen. nothing did.

we were about to move away from the misleading holographic screen, our expectations not being met.

abruptly, the ground around us shook, a small circle being formed around the three of us, slowly going deeper into the ground with us on top of the oddly moving land mass.

all of our eyes were wide, my face reading fear, amisha's blank and curious, and maria's just straight up confused.

the perfectly cut circle of concrete turned into sleek futuristic metal, the whole room did from above us but that was soon fading as we entered a modern lab looking room that seemed like it would be from the year twenty seven x.

"s-should we go?" i stuttered, clearing her throat, "its not like i'm scared, t-though." crap crap crap, that looks mad creepy.

"sure but you first." maria ordered, as if this was some action movie. queue the dramatic action music.

"pfft, that's so dramatic." amisha softly chuckled, admiring the futuristic lab that seemed to be abandoned. dust hanged from its modern looking ceiling. it resembled what amisha had shown me, some star labs place in the flash. though this seemed way more developed for the future and way more dark as only a few lights had been turned on, nothing really shown in our views.

from what i could see, the room was fairly large, everything a clean white. we were on what seemed like a floating circular elevator, one that needed no walls.

as soon as we took a careful step out the future elevator, an automatic voice rang out throughout the facility, "would you like to activate?" woah woah woah, creepy voice. mommy, where you at though?

"yes." we all chorused, bright lights immediately turning on, momentarily blinding us. AH.

"welcome to the future facility, founded together with the united states and asian countries in order to take a step closer to the future. you have entered the private section, would you like to continue the explanation?" not really, but why not?

we nodded at the invisible voice as we took cautious seats on the chairs tucked in long table that connected to the wall, multiple holographic computers being seated, or 'floated', on the table. as if it could see us, the voice continued.

"you have been scanned as lisa dang, maria romero, and amisha samaroo. you have been chosen to use the time machine section. would you like to continue and use project t.m.x."

oh. my. god. it knows my name, wow i must be famous.

in front of us a hologram appeared, reading 'click yes or no' in big bold letters. oooh, cool button.

"i wanna click!" i grinned childishly, running up to the yes button.

"if we explode, it's on you." maria pointed, me shrugging my shoulders as i gently clicked the yes button.

the hologram then disappeared, the cold automatic voice soon replacing it.

"you will now enter project t.m.x. standing for time machine x. the first of its kind, via the 'x'. please enter the the time and place you would like to enter."

"what time should we put?" i asked, my fingers hovering over the holographic keyboard.

maria shrugged, "like i know."

"amisha you choose." we both said, looking at the girl who was distracted with another computer.

"according to this, if we enter we are reborn as whatever origin we choose and can change our age. we would have memories of this machine and how we got there." amisha said.

"thats amazing!" maria grinned, "there's no bullshit to deal with!"

we all shared a quick laugh, me frowning as i continued to read on over amisha's shoulder.

"guys, the last people who used this were...murdered." i said softly, my eyes wide in fear as i backed away from the computer. MOMMY???

the two of them continued to read on with furrowed eyebrows;

the last users of project t.m.x were killed due to exploiting the useage of the project for fame and fortune.

"due to being such dicks." maria laughed, "it's obvious, we just can't tell anyone."

amisha hummed in thought, "well. It seems we can alter our whole lives, choosing our intelligence and such but we can't change too much as that can change things for the worse."

"basically our whole lives could be ruined or...amazing." i breathed out, "we should do it!" ignore the negativeness. that came out wrong, OKAY?

"i agree." amisha nodded, "and obviously maria's in."

"yeah." maria nodded, "let's go! this is really exciting!"

"can we, uh," i stuttered, "i wanna be born korean. so i actually have a chance with k-pop idols...fan gir-"

"sure" maria cut me off, "though i call bambam."

"tae!" i shouted excitedly.

"oh, suga." amisha mumbled, turning away from the computer fully.

"yay!" maria twirled, instantly falling down "ow."

both amisha and i bursted out laughing as she shot glares at us, "let's just go! Its an opportunity we dont wanna miss. if it's real that is."

"who would like to do the honors?" amisha asked, me raising my hand and jumping excitedly.

"how do we know how our life is going to be like?" maria asked, "what about our families?"

amisha tensed, though relaxed, playing with her fingers to distract her as she didn't have family left.

"really, i don't mind leaving my family." she sighed, "it may seem cold but - i can't leave what's already emotionally gone."

"let's go." i mumbled, my eyes glossy, "leaving that family is a blessing."

"okay then, lisa, you wanted to do the honors." amisha shrugged, motioning to the holographic computer.

After entering the needed information, my finger hovered over the 'travel' button.

"ready?" i asked, eagerness in my eyes. they all nodded, clustering around me as my finger pressed down onto the option that would surely change our lives.
