I think I'm in love with my best friend. If I'm being totally honest, I think I've always loved him. I just didn't realize it until now. Until I was standing on the side of the stage, watching him sing his heart out in front of thousands of fans. He looks so happy out there. Like he's on top of the world. And I get to watch him do this almost every day. It's a dream come true for him and some of the best experiences of my life. For gosh sake's I'm traveling the country with my best friend of 10 years.

"Sunshine! Earth to Sunshine!"

"Huh? What's happening?" I responded, dazed.

He chuckled, "You were completely zoned out. Everything okay?"

We started heading towards his dressing room, "Yeah I'm good. Just got lost in thought."

"Alright, just checking."

This moment of silence gave me an opportunity to get a good look at Shawn. His hair shone with sweat and his face was a light shade of pink from how hot the stage was. His shirt stuck to him like glue, accentuating his very nice muscles. Ugh. I have it so bad. This can either end up very well or very badly. I sincerely hope it is not the later. For some reason unbeknownst to me, I decided to ask Shawn a possibly very risky question.

"So, any girls catch your eye recently Shawn?" I wiggled my eyebrows suggestively.

Then I looked at his face and my heart skipped a beat. His face was currently rivaling a tomato.

"Oh my God! There is a girl!!" I did my best to sound happy.

He smiled, "Yeah there is a girl. But I don't know if she likes me too."

"Shawn. Seriously?! She'd be crazy not to!"

"Really?" He replied skeptically.

"Yeah. I mean you're a great guy. You are so incredibly talented. And sweet. You can't stand it when someone around you is sad so you always cheer them up. And you're always always there when I need you. Or when anybody needs you. And if she saw how great you are with your fans. Gosh Shawn. She'd be an idiot not to fall for you. Anyways, tell me about her! I need to know who my best friend is crushing on. Very hard, from the looks of it."

A blush formed on his cheeks, "Well for starters, she's amazing. Every day, the thought of her, it puts a smile on my face. I can't tell you how supportive she is of me. It's just incredible. Whenever I'm feeling down she is right there to make me feel better. I just want her in my arms all the time. And she is just so gosh dang beautiful with her big brown eyes and long, wavy hair. I think I'm in love Sunshine."

"Oh?"

"Yeah... You know, let me tell you just how supportive and amazing she is. This girl tours with me. She goes everywhere with me. And she loves my fans just as much as I do. Every day for ten years she has been by my side. When any one would tell me I couldn't be a singer, she would look me in the eyes and tell me not to listen to the assholes. That they didn't know what they were talking about."

My heart was beating wildly.

"And most importantly, she is my sunshine. You are my sunshine. I'm in love with you Kaylin. I love you with every fiber of my being."

Hot, salty tears ran down my cheeks. I was grinning so widely my cheeks had gone numb.

"I love you so god damn much Shawn. With every fiber of my being. I love you Shawn."

He wrapped an arm around my waist, pulling me close. With an arm still around me, he rested his other hand on my cheek, bringing my face to his. And finally our lips met. Butterflies erupted in my stomach.

Today, has by far, been the best day of my life.
