Chapter 1 - New Friends

Aphmau's POV

"Oh sweetie, your going to college already. I'm going to miss you around the house." My mom said stroking my cheek. "Mom, I'll be fine. Don't worry about me, I'll make enough money to pay for your retirement." I said reassuring her. "No, you don't need to do that. It will be too much to ask." She said worriedly. "No, mom it will be fine. Dad is already...you know. And it's only 100 dollars." I said determined. She nodded and wiped a tear from her face. I hugged her tightly, and packed my stuff in the trunk. As I was driving to my adulthood I could feel my childhood memories floating away jnto the heavens. Time to make new memories...in adulthood.

As I took stuff from my trunk I walked in slowly taking in my surroundings. 'Wow...' I thought. It was a really big room filled with bustling high school graduates and professers. "Where do I sign in and get my schedule?" I whispered to myself. I felt a slight tap on my shoulder. It was a guy with shiny brown hair and sky blue eyes. "Do you need help?" He asked. "Um, yes I do. Where do you sign in?" I replied pointing everywhere. "Just take a right and you'll see it." He said with a reasurring smile. I smiled and thanked him. "Thank you..." I said not knowing his name. "Laurence. It's Laurence Zvahl." He said. "Cool! My name is Aphmau. I'll see you around Laurence." I said walking away.

I made it to the stand where about 4 kids were lined up. I saw Laurence talking to a guy with blond hair and blue eyes as well. 'Them seem like friends.' I thought. Before I knew it the line in front of me was gone like it was never there. "Hello Ms, how can I help you?" The man said. "I'm looking for my schedule for my classes. I was enrolled a couple months ago." I explained. "Alrighty, just tell me your name and I'll get it for you." He said quickly.

"Aphmau." I said. He grabbed a packet from under the stand and said to me "In this packet it will contain your schedule, dorm number, a map of the campus, and your roommate." He said handing it to me. I thanked him and walked away. Busy looking at my map I bumped into someone. It was a girl with light blue hair and blue eyes. "Huh? Oh, I'm so sorry I wasn't looking where I was going!" I said worriedly. "It's fine. I'm Katelyn! What's your name?" She explained/asked. "My name is Aphmau. Nice to meet you Katelyn!" I exclaimed. "Nice to meet you Aphmeow! See you around." She said walking away.
