Chapter 2

I had an awful nights rest. I woke up multiple times which ended up with me crying. So when I woke up for the 5th time at 5:30 I decided I'll just stay up. I got out of my bed and went to go pick out a good first day outfit. After 15 minutes of deciding I finally decided to wear a skirt with a lace shirt and my brown boots.
I went to my bathroom and decided braiding my hair into a side inside out braid. I put a lace headband on and looked at myself in the mirror my eyes were red from the amount of crying I've done last night and on my neck was a heart necklace that Craig gave me when we first started dating I took it off quickly and put it in a drawer and put a necklace with my initials on instead. I went downstairs and was surprised by the breakfast my mom prepared for us. She of course wasn't there she was at work she's a nurse and works from 5 in the morning to around 6 at night. I looked at the table and saw three plates filled with fruit and yogurt. I smiled I sat down a began eating. Once I finished I went to my bathroom and brushed my teeth and started to put my makeup on, which included foundation, concealer, mascara, eyeshadow, and lip gloss. I know what your thinking woah why does she need that much makeup. But to be honest that's nothing compared to some girls at school. I looked in the mirror and smiled I got this lets just try to get through he day without crying. I grabbed my new backpack and looked at my schedule. I went downstairs and saw Austin eating while looking at his phone and Ethan practically sleeping with his hair sticked up in all directions. I grabbed his comb and walked over to him.
"Here let me help you."
He flinched when I began to comb. Then went back to eating.
"I heard what happened yesterday." Austin said. "Sorry"
"Eh it's nothing all that dramatic how'd your date with Allison go?"
"Oh man it was amazing!" Austin said
"By date you mean slober fest." Ethan grumbled
Austin shot him a rude look.
"Come on Ethan we need to get ready I'm driving you and Claire today."
Followed by that was Ethan practically crawling to his room to go and change out of his toy story robe he had since he was 6.
"How long did he stay up till?" I asked Austin
"Uhh I don't know I went to bed at 10 and he was still up so he was up for awhile" Austin laughed.
About 15 minutes later, Ethan came out rubbing his eyes while holding his glasses.
"Thought your gonna wear your contacts this year?" I asked Ethan
"I'm to tired." He mumbled.
"Okay let's get going." Austin announced.
Ethan was practically a zombie walking to the car and Austin looked pretty pumped most likely to see Allison. I on the other hand have been dreading this since I saw Craig yesterday. I sat down in the passenger seat and finally decided to check my phone for the first time since yesterday night.

Seriously does he actually have the nerve to put a winky face next to his text after what he just did!? Whatever Claire just ignore it. But seriously!?
I let out a sigh and rested my head on the window while we dropped Ethan off at school.
"Have a great first day bub." I called out
"Pick you up at 4!" Austin replied
He nodded and walked into the big double doors.
Oh how I remember that day personally it was awful.
Austin continued to drive and we reached the school within 10 minutes.
I got out first since I wanted to avoid Craig for the day. I saw him talking with his friends in a big circle. So I quickly walked past them while covering my face.
I got to admit I'm not the most popular person in the school but I wasn't not popular I think the only reason I was a tad bit popular was because I dated Craig.
I noticed Craig looked towards my direction as I went through the high school doors. I looked around and noticed all the the freshman scrambling to get to there lockers little did they know they still had 15 minutes till the school day started. I laughed under my breath.
Then I saw all the seniors walking down the hallways with not a care in the world. I can't wait till I get to be in their shoes. I saw Austin and I was gonna say hi when I saw Allison walking towards him. Great. I walked past her and she shot me a smile.
"Why hello to my favorite little sophomore." Allison said while walking past me to Austin.
"Hey Allison." I said while walking to find my new locker. Okay let's see here locker 354. I walked down the halls and saw lockers 345...350...Oh 354! I stopped and pulled out my sheet of paper which contained basic information like my schedule, when I have lunch, and my locker combination. 10-23-19 I turned the combination and tried to open it but no luck.
"Seriously?" I mumbled under my breath
"Need help?" I heard a voice ask from besides me. I glance over and saw a boy with glasses in a wheelchair looking up at me.
"Hi I'm Clyde."
"Hi I'm Claire." I said looking at his legs that seemed fine.
"So do you want any help?" He asked while smiling at me.
"Umm sure... Yeah that'll be great."
"Okay lemme see your combo." He said while rolling closer to my locker.
"Here." I said while handing him my paper.
He glance at it for a quick second then began spinning the lock a few times and boom it was open.
"Woah thanks." I said amazed.
"And don't worry I'm probably gonna forget your combo by first period." He said while backing his chair up.
"my lockers right here if you need my help again." He said while riding directly across the hall to his locker to grab a textbook.
I grabbed my things and put a few things back and began to walk to first period.
First day of school and I already met a friend.
