Chapter 6

They day has come it was Friday and I was sitting in math looking over the script.
"Of course you can join our band your practically the best guitar player I know let's sing something..." I mumbled trying to keep quiet while rehearsing my lines.
At this time I would sing my audition song which was stronger by Kelley Clarkson, classic motivational song. I tapped my pencil to the beat of the song on my desk while humming the words in my head.
"Oh your auditioning for Lexi?" Ashely quietly asked.
I only nodded.
"Well I guess I found my competition." She snickered
You got to be kidding me!!!!
She's auditioning for Lexi?!
Well I'm doomed...
The bell rang and the class let out a sigh of relief because the long math class was officially over.
I walked to my locker to get my lunch while still reading my lines.
"Hey Claire" I heard Hudson say from behind men
"Oh your trying out for Lexi interesting."
"What about you?"
"I'm gonna go for Luke."
"Ah the lead male singer."
"Yup come on let's go"
"Shouldn't we wait for Clyde?" I asked while closing my locker and beginning to walk.
"Yeah good idea." We said while crossing across the hall and waiting for Clyde to show up.
"Hey guys thanks for waiting." Clyde said while rolling up to his locker.
"Woah what happened to your eye!?" Hudson asked
I didn't notice it a first because of his glasses but Clyde had a black eye!
"Nothing when brushing my teeth this morning I slipped out of my chair no big deal." He said while grabbing his lunch.
Wait isn't he paralyzed so he wouldn't be able to slip out of his chair?
"You should go to the nurse." I told him while beginning to walk to the lunch room.
"Already did. It was worse but they gave me ice and the swelling went down."
"You sure your alright?"
"Yup totally."
"Ok but allow me." I said while pushing his chair down the hall while he sat back and relaxed.

I occasionally looked at the clock while sitting in choir and in exactly 10 minutes I'll be in the auditorium auditioning.
The bell rang and everyone got up and left and the halls turned into a flood of people like Black Friday shopping, because tonight is the first Friday of the new school year.
Once I got to my locker I quickly grabbed my bag and began walking back to the performing arts center where the auditorium stood.
"Hi um are you Claire?" I turned around and saw a girl wearing a school girl skirt with a polo.
"Um yeah who are you?"
"I'm Hayley Stars"
"Stars?"
"Yeah but remove the s and that's what I am."
I looked at her shocked and only nodded.
"No offense but how do you know my name?"
"Well I was talking to everyone who's auditioning and while talking to this kid in a wheelchair he said his friend, you, were auditioning and I need to know my competition."
"Oh your auditioning for Lexi" I said a bit disappointed because if Ashley and Hayley are auditioning I had no chance.
"No I'm going for the lead Becca."
"Ah ok."
"Well pleasure talking to you and I look forward to seeing you perform."  She said while walking off and when she saw Hudson she yelled out "hey are you Hudson River?"
I laughed wow her ego is huge.
Once I got into the auditorium I saw Clyde sitting in the handicap spot.
He waved me over so of course I sat right besides him.
"Nervous?" He asked.
"Terrified..." I mumbled
"Don't be you'll do great."
"Thanks"
Hudson walked in while holding his designer bag and stopped, looked around and when he saw us he smiled and walked over to us.
"Who else is nervous" he said while sitting.
We all raised a hand and laughed in response.
Mr.Buckle walked in and looked shocked we only had 12 people who came.
"Wow okay umm let's get started with these auditions." He said while sitting in his directors chair.
"First up Georgia!" He Called out.
She walked up with her head held high and gave him her permission slip.
"I'm trying out for..."

I've been watching auditions for the past 30 minutes and everyone was amazing at singing especially that Hayley girl. But we weren't that good at acting.
From the 30 minutes of sitting I made some observations about the 9 people who went
Hayley equals amazing extremely talented but a little bossy.
Georgia has a huge personality and is super sassy.
Ashley equals boyfriend kisser wait I can't say that fine she was actually a really good singer but barely made it through the lines. Same with her friends Mackenzie and Emma.
Yup you read that right her little minions auditioned also.
Mike equals most popular guy in the school which surprises me he's even auditioning but I'm not gonna lie he can sing!
Dustin was pretty quiet but no doubt about it he will get in because the lack of people wanting to audition. And same goes for Eric.
Then there was Scott and he was also super popular and sang incredibly.
"Claire Tucker!" Mr Buckle announced.
I stood up and walked to the stage. Oh ok wow this is actually happening. I handed him my packet of papers.
"Okay you may now start."
"Of course you can join our band your practically the best guitar player I know let's sing something..." I announced, the music kicked in and it was time I looked out into the audience and saw Clyde and Hudson looking at me. Clyde was smiling and mouthing "you got this."
I nodded and started to sing...
"You know the..." And before I knew it the song was over and people were looking at me shocked. People told me I was a good singer but I didn't actually believe them.
I smiled and walked off.
"Wow okay umm Hudson!"

After Hudson's performance which was Flawless! Mr Buckle said "and last but certainly not least Clyde."
"Break a leg." Hudson told him
"Nah I'll pass"
I couldn't help but laugh and Hudson sat there embarrassed "I totally didn't think that through." He whispered
Hudson rolled up the handicap ramp and began with his lines which he nailed. Then his music started. When he started singing he immediately brought goosebumps to my body no way. No one should be allowed to be that good! His performance seemed to fly by and I wished It didn't because it was amazing!
"Everyone give it together for everyone who auditioned" Mr. Buckle said wrapping up auditions. Everyone began clapping.
"But I have an important message, we unfortunately don't have enough people for the play and today Principle Lakes said this was the final day to hold auditions."
Everyone's faces went from revealed that the auditions were over to a complete out rage. People were yelling "I skipped cheerleading practice for this!" Or "I'm missing out on football practice for this?!"
"Hey Guys! GUYS!" Mr. Buckle yelled catching everyone's attention.
"I wasn't finished. Since we all discover some true talent in this room today I've decided to turn this musical audition into a show choir audition and you all made it!" My stomach dropped as far as a stomach could drop. Then people started yelling some more
"No there's no way I'm gonna do show choir and dance around on stage!" Mike announced.
"Then why did you audition to be in a play idiot!" Georgia yelled.
People were going crazy and it felt like it would never end.
