"Come on, Karma. You need to push" the doctor instructed. She was about to give birth but she refused to push until Kacy showed up.
Tears fell from her eyes, not from just the pain she was in but because Kacy promised he'd show up. He promised he'd be there with her.
Instead, he was out with his brother doing God knows what. Karma shook her head and held on tight to her mother's hand.
"Karma, please push" Ash coached as she wiped the sweat from her forehead.
"You could hurt the baby by stalling for your husband" the doctor informed. Karma then stopped stalling and pushed one time, putting all her anger into it . A few moments passed and there he was.
Keegan. The new family addition.
Keegan laid in Karma's arms and stared up at her while she breast fed him. He gently squeezed her breast and Karma smiled at her son.
The room door opened and in walked Kacy. Karma didn't even look his way, she was too busy focusing on her baby boy. Kacy smiled a little at the sight and washed his hands at the sink before standing beside the bed.
He leaned over to kiss Karma on the cheek but she moved away. "Come on man, don't start" he mumbled.
She ignored him and hummed a song to her son as he continued to eat. "Can I hold him?"
Karma stopped humming and looked up at him with anger in her eyes. She clenched her jaw "Did you dead ass just ask me that? Kacy, get the fuck outta my face"
"What you mad for? I'm here, right?"
"No. You're not Kacy. You haven't been here since your brother came back. I've been put on pause and pushed aside. At first, I was fine with it cause you haven't seen him in years. But when you push your first child's birth aside for him, that's where I draw the line"
Karma wiped her tears and looked at Kacy, who looked like he couldn't give a care in the world. His face showed how uninterested he was.
"Kacy, you're dead ass breaking my heart" she mumbled, shaking her head.
"Karma, I dead ass don't care" and with that, he walked out the room leaving Karma and Keegan alone. Karma wiped her tears that continued to fall. If someone was to ask her what went wrong, she'll automatically say Kenton.
When he first appeared on the door step the night of the baby shower, Karma could already feel the difference taking place between her and Kacy. And as the days went by, things just continued to happen.
Kacy stopped caring.
He started changing.
And everyone noticed it. Once Kacy left, Keegan was asleep so Karma put him in the baby basket. Dion walked in and from the looks of things, he knew Karma was about to break down any second.
Soon as he wrapped his arms around her, she did just that. She clung onto Dion and soaked his shirt in tears as Kacy continued to cross her mind.
Nobody knew why he was acting the way he was. Not even his mother.
"Karma, please. Don't let that nigga see you like this. We aint punks, remember?" Dion tried to lighten up the mood.
"He doesn't care D. He doesn't. And I've been trying to get him back to the old Kacy but it's not working. I'm losing him"
She couldn't face the fact that she was losing the man she fell in love with. She just didn't want to believe it.
