Your name is (Y/n), you're 20 years old, and you are the finest, plus one of the only swordswomen from your village. No matter what gets in your way, you fight for those in need and the people you care about, at times though, you wished you could be a soldier, so you would be able to fight for everyone in the kingdom aswell. Your tale begins with just another regular day, you helped the elders with chores like feeding the cuccos and catching any goats that got loose.

When all the hard work was done, you went back to your house to continue practicing your sword skills for the rest of the evening. You grunted occasionally as you swung at the wooden dummy with your blade, it had many marks and gashes from previous trials, but suprisingly it never really seemed to break, it always remained standing.

Soon night had fallen and it was time to rest, you sheathed your sword and walked to the door of your home.

"Phew! I really went all out this time!" You panted as you wiped the sweat from your forehead.

You were about to open the door when you heard rapid footsteps getting closer to you, you knew those sandal steps anywhere.

"What's the postman doing here this late? Shouldn't he be done for the night?" You thought questioningly as you looked to see him approaching.

Once he finally reached you he tipped his hat slightly, "Good evening Ms.(Y/n)! Sorry to bother you this late, but I have a very important message!" He spoke a bit rushed.

"What is it?" You asked him curiously.

"I didn't have a specific person to give it to, it's just meant for the village! I'm glad I could give it to you though, so here you go!"He sung as he pulled out a red envelope and handed it to you.

"The whole village huh? What do you think it's about?" You questioned more to yourself than him.

"That's what I've been wondering..But I shouldn't be questioning mail!" He spoke in a more serious voice as he put his hands on his hips and shook his head.

His voice was sincere, but you couldn't help but laugh in your mind at how silly he looked.

"Alrighty! Now that my work is done here it's time for me to prepare for tomorrow! Hope to see you next delivery Ms.(Y/n)!" He grinned as he saluted you.

"Heh, be careful out there!" You waved as he turned away.

"Onward to mail!" He cheered as he once again jogged away into the distance, you chuckled quietly as you watched him vanish into the night, and went inside your house.

After bringing light to the room, you sat down on your bed and opened the envelope.

What the note said, was the one thing you had always hoped you would read.

-Soldiers Needed!- Hyrule has need of warriors to join our forces, but know that this is no laughing matter. The fate of Hyrule rests on everyone's shoulders on the battlefield, if you choose to join us, be ready to give your life for your kingdom. Have you the courage? -General Impa-

You couldn't help but smile, this was your chance!

Just then, you heard a branch crack from outside, you jolted your head, looking at the door. You slowly stood up and walked towards it, pulling your sword from its sheath in the process.

You leaned against the door with your back, holding the cold blade against your chest as you peered out the small window in the center.

You couldn't quite tell what was out there, but you knew it wasn't human.

It was a small creature, its silhouette had tiny horns and what looked like some sort of club in its hands, it was dark outside and you could barely see it, but you knew it was out there.

You carefully darkened the light in your house in hopes of fooling it to think you had gone to sleep.

The monster didn't seem to notice though, and continued walking past.

You couldn't let it get into the village!

You put your free hand on the door knob and slowly twisted it.

(Author's note: ~Whether your left or right handed I don't know, but I'm going to say that your ambidextrous and use the term 'free hand' for the story~ X3)

Once it finished turning, you ever so slightly pushed the door open, and prayed to Din the creature wouldn't see.

Thankfully, it seemed oblivious.

Sneaking as silently as possible, you squeezed through the door with your sword still in hand, and snuck towards the monster.

You raised your sword high in the air as you got closer, the small beast had just enough time to turn around and its green eyed gaze met your own before you swung your blade straight into its head, knocking it to the ground and instantly killing it.

You sighed with relief as you sheathed your sword and walked over to the now dead monster.

You knelt down to get a good look at it, Its skin was a surprisingly bright orange color and had sharp fangs, it had various small weapons in its possession, it sure seemed prepared!

Unfortunately a sneak attack wasn't something it had in mind.

You grabbed some of its daggers and a map from its belt before you stood up.

You unfolded the map and looked to see... it had the entire kingdom of Hyrule on it! You could get to the castle with ease now!

You grinned and went back inside your house to prepare for the journey that lied ahead of you.

You decided to put on a blue tunic with a white zig-zag pattern at the bottom and a brown belt in the middle. Along with orange leggings, black fingerless gloves and boots, you put a long silver scarf around your neck with the triforce crest at the end.

(Here's the tunic I decided on x) I love how it looks and I wanted you and Link too look similar x3 <3 )

Once you put on your tunic and armor and placed the blue cap on the back of your head, you grabbed some food for the road along with your hand crafted wooden shield, placing it on your back with your sheath.

You wrote a note to the village if anyone questioned where you went or what had happened. You exited your house and walked along the path that led to the fields.

After a few moments, you looked back with sad eyes, you wished you could say goodbye to everyone, but you knew there was no time to waste.

With a sincere nod, you turned, and made your way to Hyrule castle, knowing deep in your heart that from here on out, everything would change...
