Once you had made it to Hyrule castle, you became a trainee along with many others, but of course, there was only men.
As the only female trainee, the others watched you like you were some sort of prize, once you had your trainee uniform and wooden sword/shield, that was it.
Whether you were training alone or with a partner, you were constantly being seen by someone.
After about a week or so in the castle, you were outside battling with a fellow trainee when you saw some of the others talking with someone new.
For once, there was someone not wearing a helmet!
They had blonde hair, blue eyes, and pointed ears like you (You have pointed ears in this story x3). After a minute or so, you paused the duel and walked over to them.
Your dueling partner seemed reluctant to let you go over there though, and blocked your path.
"Uh, do you mind? I kind of want to go meet that other trainee over there." You told him slightly confused.
"Er-uh, y-y-you don't wanna go over there! That guy isn't worth talking to! Uh-Heck! He doesn't even speak that much at all!" The man stuttered, panicked.
You didn't listen to him though, you just pushed by him and continued walking.
Once you finally reached them, the other trainees went silent and stared at you, the blonde haired man looked at them confused, and turned his head to see you, once he did, his eyes widened and he turned his body aswell.
You were a bit nervous now, but spoke up anyway.
"H-Hello... um, I'm (Y/n), i-it's nice to meet you..." You stuttered slightly but smiled and outstretched your hand to him.
The man looked at you for a moment before giving you a warm smile and nodding, gently taking your hand with and shaking it slightly.
"My name is Link.." You heard a voice speak in your mind.
"Link..?" You whispered unintentionally.
Suprisingly, Link nodded with a slight grin.
"Well heh, it's nice to meet you, Link." You smiled again, but this time alot less nervous.
He gave a slight chuckle as he let go of your hand.
One of the nearby soldiers looked angry as they grabbed Link by the shoulder, Link made a sound of suprise as they whispered something into his ear and dragged him off near the end of the training yard, you were curious to see what it was about, but you only took a few steps closer.
The trainee held a wooden spear, and you heard him yell something to Link, it sounded like he said: "Whoever wins gets the girl!" But you weren't completely sure.
Link looked towards you with a thinking look, but soon gave you a small smile and turned to the trainee with a challenging nod of agreement.
A big group of the trainees ran over to get a closer look at the two and began to excitedly cheer for them both.
One of the captains must have heard the commotion and walked up the the pair, stopping in the middle of them, he spoke to each of them asking if they were ready, and they both nodded as Link pulled out his wooden sword and shield.
The captain backed up until he was a few meters away from them saying, "Begin!" and the duel commenced, you were a bit excited aswell, your eyes never left the battle.
