"What's the best part of High School Em?" said Tess in a dreamy fashion.
"Two words. Jonah Lockman." We both smiled and giggled at our lunch table. Yes, the psychotic killer's daughter is into boys. We both sighed and gazed at him with our heads in our hands. Sadly I'm still a virgin because I'm actually a potential doctor and there is no way in Hell I'm gonna ruin that with a fetus in my belly. Jonah glanced at me and our eyes locked. He smiled and all I could do was lift my head awkwardly from my hands and smile back. I saw him chuckle and continue on with his conversation. Maybe that's why I'm still a virgin...
"Yeah you really screwed things up right there."
"What?" I whipped my head to Tess.
"You were practically thinking out loud you freak!" giggled the blonde. I felt my cheeks turn hot and I smiled shyly. To be honest I don't really know much about Jonah, except that he has an amazing fohawk and gorgeous eyes. We've been going to school together for as long as I can remember, though he never talked to me. It wasn't until recently that I saw how totally gorgeous he was. Luckily the years have been good to me and I developed well. But I wouldn't have a shot with him. All the girls practically throw themselves all over him. When the bell rang signaling lunch was over, I grabbed my bag and threw away my plate. Tess was going on about something that I simply don't care for, and I thought about Jonah. His beautiful green eyes looking into mine..... Then someone broke me of my thoughts my placing their hand on my shoulder.
I turned around only to see the same green eyes I imagined staring right at me.
"H-hi Jonah." I stuttered. Nice move.
"Hey Emmaline. How've you been?" asked the handsome brunette now walking beside me. Tess sent me a smirk and walked ahead. Thanks for leaving me to my misery you lovable bitch.
"I've been fine thanks, um how about you?"
"Just fine. Hey didn't you used to go to Sunset Hill Elementary a few years back?"
Oh, now he notices. "Uh yeah we used to go to school together. And we used to be neighbors until you moved closer to the school."
"Yeah, I thought so... Hey so uh, you wanna hang out sometime? You know, sort of like... a date? Haha..."
I could tell he's just as nervous as I am. Poor chap. "Yeah that'd be awesome! " I beamed at him.
"Ha great! Say we hit the mall on Saturday? I can pick you up."
"Definitely! Yeah that sounds great!"
"Alright then, I guess I'll see you around." He flashed me a wink and left.
~~~
"Daddy? Where are you?" I walked through my house and found daddy in the kitchen. He walked towards me and knelt to my level and said," Go to bed sweet pea. Daddy's working." His voice was only an echo. He blocked the door way to delay any further investigation. His eyes were vacant, as if no one was really there. That's when I noticed the blood on his shirt. I shoved behind him and saw two dead bodies on the tile floor. At first I couldn't see who they were, so I stepped closer.
And closer..
And closer..
My little feet stepped on something warm now. Warm and..... well sticky. One of the bodies groaned and I looked up. It was my mother. She lay on her stomach and she lifted her head. She saw me and then her eyes shifted behind me. I turned around and saw daddy holding a knife and walking towards my mother. He knelt beside her and she struggled to lift her arm. Daddy gently lowered her arm and planted a kiss on her head. He then thrust the knife on the other body. It was a man. He let out a groan and nothing else. He slowly tried to lift his head and tried to turn it over to face me. He got halfway and then--
The sound of my phone blowing up near my ear woke me up. "Three New Messages" it read. Surprise, surprise, it's all from Tess and how she totally hates me for stealing her man and to tell her all about it when I get home. Well it's Saturday which means my date with Jonah! I checked the time. Shit it's 11:43!!!! Jonah will be here in two hours!! As I did my morning routine(quite hastily) I thought about that dream. It didn't make any sense. Why was mom dead? She had nothing to do with this. And who was that man? I've never seen him in my life. Or.. Have I? Dreams are made up of what you know, so that means I've seen that man somewhere before. Alright this is getting ridiculous it's only a dream why does it matter. I could be thinking about mine and Jonah's first kiss right now, but instead I'm tiring my brain by thinking about nonsense! Now for the eternal question: What to wear?
