Goodbyes

When the sun streamed through the crack in the curtains Alec began to stir from his peaceful sleep and smiled at his lovers arms wrapped around him for what felt like was the first time in forever. Alec couldn't remember the last time he woke up like this.

Magnus looked so beautiful and so peaceful as he slept, Alec carefully removed Magnus' arms from around him and gently slipped out of their bed.

Alec decided to bring some romance back into their relationship and make breakfast in bed.

Arms slinked themselves around his waist when he was putting the breakfast on the plates.

"Good morning my love." Magnus purred seductively into his husbands ear.

"Good morning." Alec smiled and leaned back into Magnus' embrace.

After a few minutes Alec tried pulling away from the embrace but was pulled back in an instant.

"The breakfast is going to go cold." Alec whispered, almost shyly.

"I know what I'd rather be having for breakfast." Magnus smiled, kissing Alec's neck.

"N-no, the food." Alec half moaned as lips met his neck once again.

"Fine, but I promise I'll have my way with you on that table after." Magnus said, releasing Alec from his grip and making his way over to the table.

Alec smiled as he grabbed the plates of half cold breakfast off of the kitchen bench and took them over to the table.

Alec couldn't keep the smile off his face the whole time they were eating, thinking about what Magnus had said about after breakfast. It almost felt like when they were first married all over again.

"Hurry up and finish that breakfast, I'm getting impatient." Magnus winked, getting up from his seat and walking around the table to Alec.

"I will not hurry." Alec smirked, slowly taking a fork full of food up to his mouth.

Magnus smacked the fork out of Alec's hand and pushed the plates off the table, but before Alec could say anything Magnus had hpulled his chair back and straddled his lap.

"I thought-" Alec began but Magnus shushed him with a kiss.

Then Magnus did what was promised and took Alec right then and there on the table.

Alec stood stark naked and dripping wet in front of the dresser, looking for an outfit for the day.

"God damn it Alec." Magnus groaned when he entered their bedroom.

"What?" Alec asked.

"Get some clothes on before I do you again right there." Magnus moaned, falling face first on the bed.

"I can't help you like what you see, maybe you should have married someone less sexy." Alec laughed, putting on clothes like Magnus had asked.

Alec walked over to the edge of the bed and gave Magnus a playful slap on the ass before leaving the room.

Alec sat on the couch eating a banana and watching out the window when he heard Magnus coming down the stairs.

"Babe, we need to talk." Magnus sighed, sitting on the couch next to his husband.

"You're going away again aren't you?" Alec asked, not even looking in Magnus' direction.

"I'm sorry baby. Please don't be mad." Magnus sighed, pulling Alec into his lap.

"Don't worry about it, I'm use to being alone now." Alec said with no emotion and standing from his lovers lap.

Magnus sighed as he watched Alec walk up the stairs, presumably to lock himself in their bedroom.

When Magnus finally went up stairs he used his magic to unlock the bedroom door, Alec was asleep on the bed, surrounded by tissues.

Magnus hated leaving Alec alone but it was dangerous to take him. He just wanted to make enough money that they'd never have to worry about it again and he could be home with his husband every day for the rest of eternity.

Magnus packed a suitcase and left it by the end of the bed, he was leaving first thing in the morning and he hated knowing Alec was going to be mad and upset at him for however long he was gone, but for now he crawled into bed with the younger man and pulled him into his arms.

When morning came Magnus got himself ready to and stood at Alec's side of the bed, contemplating if he should wake him up or not.

Magnus sighed and shook Alec lightly, he was a light sleeper so Magnus was sure he was already awake and he was right, Alec's eyes opened but he said nothing.

"I have to go." Magnus spoke sadly down to his husband.

Magnus watched as tears welled up in Alec's eyes but he was quick to wipe them away.

"Please be safe." Alec sniffed.

"Always baby." Magnus gave a sad smile and climbed back into the bed to hold his lover.

The two lay together for what felt like forever before Magnus' phone began to buzz.

"That's my cue.." Magnus spoke quietly.

"I love you Magnus." Alec sobbed into the warlocks chest.

"I love you too. Goodbye my sweetheart." Magnus sniffed and kissed Alec with as much passion as possible.

Then Magnus was gone in a flash and Alec was left all alone, wondering when and if he'd ever see his husband again.
