Third Person.

Everyone had plans to go out today, except for Calum leaving him stuck with Darcy and Ricky for a few hours.

Calum laid on the couch, his head leaning against the arm rest on the side of him and his legs curled up on the second cushion as he scrolled through his phone, peeking up at Grey's Anatomy every once in a while.

Ricky entered the room, dark circles around his eyes and a frown on his face. Calum moved his phone to the side to get a good look at Ricky, "Hey kiddo, what's wrong?"

"Nothing, where's my mum?" He asked, glancing towards the stairs.

Calum sighed, setting his phone down and sitting up. He mad sure to pause his show before talking to Ricky. "She had to run out somewhere, she'll be back in a few hours. I'm the only one here right now, you know you can talk to me if you need to."

Ricky shook his head, slowly turning towards the stairs.

"Is it about a boy?" Calum asked. Ricky turned around, this time looking quite annoyed.

"Ever since I accidentally told you that you think every time there's something wrong it's about a boy. Well it's not. I'm trying to find my freaking anti-depressants because I don't want to feel like this all day but you wouldn't know that because you think everything revolves around relationships! Well it doesn't and you're so obsessed with them it's crazy how you don't even have one." Ricky yelled, turning on his heels and running up the stairs. Calum sat there, eyes slightly wide as he took in everything his nephew had just screamed at him.

Calum sat there in silence for about a half hour, feeling like the worst person ever. Finally he got up and went into the kitchen grabbing a small tray and placing a cup of apple juice on it along with some toast and then he went into the guest bathroom and grabbed the bottle of pills for Ricky placing two on the tray and walking over to Ricky's door.

He knocked twice before slowly opening the door. Calum walked in, hesitantly placing the tray down by Ricky on his bed.

"I'm really sorry," Ricky sighed, "But thank you."

"No, don't be sorry. I probably deserved that, I have been quite annoying with the whole boy thing. It's just, I want to have a closer relationship to you because you're my nephew and you weren't around for a long time but now you guys are all here. And it's great. But you and I never got close, ya know bud?" Calum gave half smile, patting Ricky's shoulder.

"Sorry for not trying hard enough to understand that." Ricky looked down going to grab a piece of toast, but Calum pulled the tray away.

"What do you say we go out for breakfast instead?" Calum asked, raising an eyebrow waiting for his nephew's approval. Ricky smiled and nodded, grabbing his pills and quickly taking them before hopping off his bed.

Calum picked up the tray to return it to the kitchen, "Get dressed, I'll go get your sister ready and then we can head out."

***

They ended up at a small diner, grabbing some food.

"Can I ask you something?" Calum asked after cutting up Darcy's slice of pizza and sliding it towards the small girl who immediately began eating.

Ricky shrugged, biting into the greasy pineapple pizza. "I guess."

"So, are you completely sure you're gay?"

Ricky's eyes widened and he glanced around to make sure there was no one close enough to hear. He practically chocked on his pizza, putting the slice down and drinking some of his soda. "Okay, that was just a little blunt. But, uh, honestly why do I need a label or whatever. I just want to be me, I don't think it should matter who I like. Maybe I like girls and boys. Does that bother you?"

Suddenly Ricky felt completely self-conscious, he could just imagine the things Calum was thinking about him. He was just a stupid twelve year old freak.

"No at all," Calum smiled widely, unaffected by the situation. "Are you going to tell your parents?"

Ricky shook his head, "No, no, no. I'm only twelve, maybe I'm not completely sure. And my dad, he wouldn't like me anymore. He wouldn't like that."

Calum shook his head with a frown. "Ricky, your parents love you this wouldn't change their opinions."

"Just-I don't want to talk about this. So, aren't you going on your last tour soon?"
