Escape the Alpha.
Chapter 1
I slowly slink over to the side of the corridor and get on my hands and knees, before crawling over to one of the many fake palm trees that littered the school's hallway, and hide myself behind it. I could hear the heavy breathing of Nathan from behind me and turn around to face him, giving him a cold glare.
“What?” Nathan asks loudly and I whack him lightly on the back of his head.
“Be quiet!” I whisper angrily and turn back around, trying to spot our school's principal. I was close to giving up hope when I finally hear the foot steps coming down the hall, and I whip my head back around to Nathan.
“Hide Nathan!” I screech, still trying to keep my voice quiet, but Nathan just looks over to me in confusion.
“I am hiding..”
“Hide better then!” I whisper frantically, but sigh in relief when he creeps over to a nearby palm tree and crawls in behind it.
The footsteps grow louder and I push myself further behind the tree and squeeze my eyes tightly shut. I knew i'd be in massive trouble if I was caught for doing another prank, but the temptation was too much.
I open my eyes just in time to see the principal and another man walking together down the hall. The men were talking in hushed whispers and I find my eyes widen when I look over to the man beside the principal.
How was it even possible for a human to look that attractive? The man was massive, and towered over the principal's average frame. He wore an expensive business suit but had rolled the jacket's sleeves up, allowing me to see the flex in his arms every time he moved them. His hair was a dark raven colour which contrasted with his slightly tanned skin perfectly, and his eyes were a vibrant hazel green. He. Was. Perfection.
The man suddenly stops walking and raises his head slightly in the air, reminding me somewhat of a dog sniffing. He stays still for a few more moments before shaking his head and continuing his walk down the hall, past Nathan and myself.
I watch the man's back as he continues his walk down the hall with the principal in tow, and feel a strange urge to follow him, but refrain from doing so when he turns the corner, disappearing from sight.
“Ashley!” Nathan says and I look over to him, raising an eyebrow.
“Hmm?” I reply, still slightly dazed by the strange man's beauty.
“What just happened? You totally zoned out.” Nathan speaks again and I finally find the power to talk.
“Oh sorry, I was just thinking. Ready to prank?” I ask with a grin, to which Nathan grins back.
“Come on, let's go.” I wiggle myself out from behind the tree and brush the dust off my knees with my hands while Nathan does the same.
“Do you have the goose?” I ask as I walk over to him. He grins and lifts up the cardboard box from behind him.
“It's here. Do you think anybody will be in his office?”
I shake my head in reply and turn around, looking down at my watch. If my calculations were correct, we have around 15 minutes to get the goose inside the principals office before he returned.
"We need to go.” I say and begin walking down the hallway cautiously. I was worried somebody would hear us, and end up flinching every time my shoes make a loud noise. If we got caught for this prank we would be in deep trouble.
