“What are you talking about?” Roktu was curious by Annabella’s remark, as though it seemed familiar to her fateful reunion with her deceased mother.
“As I said, I met my deceased sister, Tirianna,” Annabella looked at Roktu, her eyes blazed with the same flame as Tirianna. “It’s a long story, if you would like to hear it.”
“We have time, don’t we Mr. Paranoid?”
“Marlox is scouting, so yes, Roktu. Please tell us your story, Annabella.”
“Very well,” Annabella said.
You see, the next thing when I fell unconscious, I saw myself in a dimension… well at least a dimension I never saw before. The floor was made of white stone, and on the center, a bat-like insignia was inscribed on the floor. There was a round arch connected by a series of white concrete columns, so I thought, “Am I in a dream? I swore I never went here before.”
However, I was wrong. I decided to scan at the beautiful ocean from the stone fences, my eyes drawn by the beautiful ebbs of waves. It was too beautiful, I thought to myself; too beautiful to be seen as reality. After a few moments, I heard a woman’s voice, singing a song I recognized somewhere. I turned around, and for a moment I thought I saw myself, but it wasn’t me. The woman bore a resemblance to me: blonde hair, her right bearing a red eye, and her left eye being blue, the same as mine. Then I thought, “She must be a Fangclaw like I am.”
Strangely she smiled at me as though I was somebody she knew. Our outfits were different, which made me realize we weren’t the same person. She wore a dress, pure white, and her petticoat was wider than my battle outfit. She was also carrying a sheathed rapier, so I assumed she wanted to engage me in combat. I drew my rapier in front of her, but the woman continued to walk to me without drawing her weapon. That’s when I knew she wanted to talk to me. I lowered my blade and waited for the woman to approach me.
“Annabella Fangclaw, my younger sister,” She said, which only made me even more suspicious. I don’tt think I ever had a younger sister. Perhaps it was a figment of my imagination because I was deep in slumber.
“Who…?”
What she did next made her more suspicious: she continued to smile at me. There was no doubt she knew who I am, and she was expecting me to figure it out. It took me some time to ascertain the reason behind her silent answer, but eventually I came to the conclusion she did know me. She meant no harm, so I inserted my rapier into my scabbard. I allowed her to stroke my bangs aside, revealing my blue eye and my Eye of Half Blood. For some reason I felt comfortable allowing her to do so.
“Last time I saw you, it was one hundred and fifty years ago. You’ve grown so mature and beautiful over the last century and a half, my younger sister.”
Did you know how I felt to know a hundred and fifth years had passed? It made me astonished, almost bewildered to discover sixteen years of my life had actually been as long as a century. No wonder I always found it odd how humans die at a quick time. To know that I had existed for a century and a half meant my answers were answered. Still, that meant I wasn’t human.
“If I had existed for a hundred and fifty years, that only means I’m…”
“It doesn’t mean you’re a demon, Annabella.” Her smile made me question if she even understood my situation. Maybe she was trying to make me feel better, but at that moment she made feel like an idiot. It was a good thing she didn’t think of me as an insane person, and I could tell when someone thought I was mad.
