ღ Her ღ
The summer had begun. The sweltering heat, the little shorts, the flip-flops, large hats, double scoops of ice-cream, lemonade and iced tea. One day, she'd brought him over. To her real house, he was surprised by it's enormity, ecause she'd never, not once advertised her wealth. Not even then, when he finaly got to see it. She led him towards the swimming pool where she stripped out of her yellow sundress and into a matching yellow bikini, her hair was done up in a messy bun, and she didn't bother to push away the little tendrils of hair that tickled her face.
She noticed that he hadn't even taken his shirt off, his trunks were blue with those Hawaiin flower print things. Her dad had a pair like that, but he never seemed to have a problem revealing his, rather hairy, chest and geting into the pool.
"Hey," She said, the hint of a laugh lacing her voice "You can take off your shirt, I'm not going to bite" He bit his lip, and she smiled, everything he did, always so hesitant, so unsure. It was, in a way, beautiful. He looked at her, unsure and she smiled back encouragingly. He took of his shirt and a breath caught in her throat.
He was ripped, or covered in muscle. He didn't have a six pack and delicious abs. He was lean, slightly muscular, and according to her. Just... perfect. She wished more than anything that he knew that. She whisteled approvingly, just to see his cheks flame up, he blushed more than any other boy she knew, and she thought it was adorable. "I, am impressed" She said approvingly, giving him a very obvious once-over. He blushed furiously and she laughed.
"I'm just teasing," She said, still laughing, "But really, you've got nothing to be ashamed of" Then she ran over to the deep end of the pool and jumped in, tucking her knees into her chest. "Whooo!" she screamed, giggling. She splashed around the cold, clear, chlorinated water and called out for him to join. Slowly he moved towards the metal stairs that made their way into the rippling water, she frowned, careful and cautious was not Red.
"Jump." she said firmly, her mouth set in a determined line, his stormy eyes widened and fear flashed across his face or a moment. her tone soften and her face relaxed, he gave him a small smile.
"Come on, its fun. I promise" a part of her doubted he even knew what fun was. Sure, if sitting around and doing nothing was your idea of fun, good for you. But she had a strong feeling he'd never done anything for his own pleasure, and behind his fear, she could see an adventurous, carefree guy waiting to come out. And she was going to help him.
He closed hi m eyes and muttered what sounded like a rather angsty prayer, then he ran up to the edge of the pool, slowly, but too fast to be caledd walking, and then, he liften his knees in the air, tucked them into his chest, wrapped his arms around them and jumped. The splash was large and messy and just the way it should've been.
"Yay!" She squealed, grinning widely. She swam over to where he was and gave him a hug. The first they had ever exchanged. His wet body tesned for a moment when their skin made contact, she felt the tension and awkwardness in the air and was just about to release when he seemed to have given in, he relaxed and his arms wrapped around her small frame, sending little jolts of electricity through her body and making her shiver even though the sun was bright and his body was warm. She closed her eyes, taking in the moment. She lost track of how long they held each other, and she realised something, this simple hug meant so much, said so much, and she could tell that now, from this moment, he trusted her. And that meant everything.
Ugh. Don't like this one -_-
