A/N I forgot that Prefects get their own compartments, oops. Oh, well. This is Fanfiction isn't it? Enjoy!

"What are you doing here, Lupin?"

"Lana, please. I know you're mad at me. Just let me explain."

Lily looked at Lana and nodded. Go. she mouthed.

She crossed her arms and followed her best friend outside. "What do you have to say?"

"Look, I'm sorry that you're mad at me right now. Can you just tell me why?"

"You don't think I know, Remus. You don't think I know that you were lying to me. Why don't you just tell me? You tell me that you can't travel because your father works, but Remus, you told me last year that your father had lost his job and didn't want to try to get another one. You said that your mother was the only one working now. That's how I knew you were lying. But now tell me, why did you lie? There's a reason you're not telling me, Lupin."

"I- I- I can't tell you, Lana. I'm sorry."

"I thought we were friends, Remus. Why can't you tell me? Is it something that someone told you you shouldn't tell? Have you told your little Marauder friends?"

Remus shook his head, "I wish I could, Lana. But I don't know how you'd react. I don't think you would like me anymore."

"You not telling me is going to cause me not to like you. Not whatever you can't tell me."

"I don't think you'd believe me if I told you."

The train arrived at its destination, causing the two young students to be thrown onto the floor. Lana walked away from Remus, leaving him on the floor with mixed emotions.

He got up and caught up to her. "You're a pretty smart Ravenclaw, you know."

"Flattery is not going to help you right now, Lupin." She said, smirking just a little.

"But I'm only telling truths, Phillips."

"Don't even try, Remus. Talk to me again once you get the balls to tell me the truth."

With that, she flipped her hair and walked away from him.

Remus was disappointed in himself. He couldn't bring himself to tell his best friend the truth about him. Sirius caught up to him. "Sooooo, Moony? Did you tell her?"

Remus looked at him and frowned. "No, Siri."

Sirius put his hand on his chest and dramatically exclaimed,"But why not, mister?"

Peter was the next to arrive into their circle. "Didya do it, Remmy?"

"No, Peter. I didn't, now can we talk about something else."

"Oh, no." Peter shook his head,"You're supposed to tell your girlfriend the truth, bud."

"She's not my girlfriend, Peter, and you know it."

"But she could be." Sirius coughed.

Remus sighed, "Where's James?"

"Where do you think, Remmy?"

"Chasing Lily again?"

"Ding, ding, ding." Peter laughed.

"But this year, she can take away points for it."  Sirius stated.

"Oh yeah, she's a prefect too. Good for her." Remus laughed this time, knowing his friend was in for this year.

"Leave me alone, idiot!" Lily yelled at James, running as he tried to flirt with her.

Lana laughed from a ways away, and sat down at her house's table.

"Why, hello." Pandora Bagley (A/N this is Luna's mom, but I couldn't find her maiden name, so I made one up) said from above Lana.

"Hi, Pandora. How was the train ride?"

"Oh, well, pretty much all I did was read this book on Potions. Nobody sat with me. Can I sit here?"

"Sure."

Lana noticed that, once again, the Defense against the Dark Arts teacher was missing. Every single year, the teacher was different. It was like a curse or something was placed on the job.

After the Sorting Ceremony and dinner, Lily had left to show the new students to their dormitories. So, she decided she might as well go to her own.

The Ravenclaw Tower was in the west side of the school. Lana sighed as she was much too tired to answer the eagle knocker's riddle today, but she knew she was going to have to do it anyway.

A murderer is condemned to death. He has to choose between three rooms. The first is full of raging fires, the second, full of assassins with loaded guns, and the third is full do lions that haven't eaten in three years.

"It's the lions, of course. They'd all be dead."

Correct.

After being let into her Common Room, she sat down eagerly. Even though this year would be hard, with O. W. L. S. being sooner and sooner, she was glad to be back with her friends. Romania was a beautiful place of course, but Hogwarts was her home. She couldn't stand being away any longer.

She was worried about Remus as well. It wasn't like him to hide things from her, not since they had been paired up in Transfiguration all those years ago. She sighed longingly. Recently, Remus had been filling her thoughts more than ever before, and it scared her. She couldn't tell him; she didn't trust herself to do so.

He probably didn't return her feelings, and she had accepted that. Remus Lupin was an amazing friend and would let her down easily, but it just wouldn't be the same. She couldn't bring herself to ruin their friendship because she had feelings for an amazing, intelligent, kind-

"Lana?"

"Ah! Uh, sorry!" She shot up out of her seat on the Common Room couch, and smiled. She didn't give herself time to see who the person was, she was much too embarrassed, and she raced out of the Common Room. Maybe it was time to talk to Lily.

As she ran to the Great Hall, she thought about Lily's reaction. She probably wouldn't judge her. She'd understand, and try to help. Lana just knew it, but she was still worried.

She found her patrolling the hallways outside the Gryffindor Common Room. Lana glances around quickly, making sure that he wasn't around.

That would've been mortifying.

"I have to tell you something."

Lily's eyebrow raised, curious. She could've been teasing, but Lana couldn't tell. "Please do."

Lana covered her eyes with her hands. She wouldn't be able to look Lily in the eyes while saying this.

"I like someone." She said quickly, peeking through her fingers slowly.

"I know."
