"My what?", Molly said, obviously shocked by what Mary had just said. Mary still crying said, "your real mother!" Molly was now up and pacing the room saying, " no no no, what are you saying mum?" Nate caught Molly and sat her down on the chair beside him, all the while holding her hand. "Molly calm down, your mum probably has a good explanation for this". Nate now motioning for Mary to continue. So she did, "Molly your real mother was a witch and my sister. Your mother went missing two weeks after you were born". Molly was still crying, but calming down a little now. "Well if she went missing, how did you get this necklace?" She left you in a basket with a note, this necklace and an envelope sealed, saying Molly on the front ". Mary walked over to the old fireplace and put her had up in it, to retrieve an envelope with the note glued to it. Mary began to read the note aloud: "Dear Mary, this is my baby Molly. She is in great danger, so I have had to leave her with you. Please raise her as your own and when you do eventually have to tell her the truth, give her the envelope I have put in this basket and as for the necklace, you must not tell her it was me that left it. Make up a story to explain were you got it, but make sure you give it to her, on her sixteenth birthday and explain to her what it does. As for me, I hope to be back one day, but if I'm not, take good care of my baby. Love Margaret." As Mary finished reading the letter, she could see Molly crying. She walked over and went to hug Molly, but Molly pulled away. " You have lied to me my whole life!" "Only because Margaret told me to." Molly's face turned from sad, to anger. "My mother left me with you, to protect me and what did you do, you let me run away on my own, without telling me any of this." "Honey it's not like I had time to tell you , you were gone before I could say anything." " And what about that time at the park ? What about then? Could you not have told me then?" Mary was just trying to keep up with Molly's questions now. "No, you had work and ran away before I could tell you. " That was it, Molly had quite enough of listening to this. She stormed out of the house. Nate went to go after her, but before he could, Mary grabbed his arm and handed him the envelope. He nodded and ran after her. "Molly come back in, she will tell you whatever you want to know!" "No Nate! can you just take me home." At that moment Molly realised she had no home and she had to be out of that hotel by tomorrow. Molly dropped to her knees. Nate felt as if it was his duty to help her. "What is it Molly? What's wrong?" "Nate, I have no home! I'm getting kicked out of the hotel I've been staying in. I was supposed to go apartment hunting today." Nate made a quick decision in his mind and said, " hey I've got a spare room. Why don't you stay at my place until you find an apartment?" Molly's face lit up a little bit. "Only if you're sure?" Molly said in a unsure tone. "Of course I am! Don't ever let it be said, that Nathan White ever left a damsel in distress alone, with no place to go." Molly let out a little laugh. "Oh Prince Charming, come and save me!" She put her hand to her forehead and pretended to swoon. At that, Nate picked her up like a baby and placed her in the car. As they reached the hotel, Molly ran up and packed her things, while Nate waited in the car . She payed the amount of money she was due and got in the car. As they rolled up to his apartment building, she looked at him and said, "thank you! " His heart was pounding and he had no idea why, but he saw it as an opportunity and leaned in for a kiss.....
