Bare with me; it's been a while since I've touched this story. I'm sorry that I've been so absent. I just suddenly had inspiration to write :/
Something seemed of about Master when I told him about the tattoo. He looked...startled. Did he know something and was holding me back? That wouldn't be any good. I reached the main floor of the guild, a hard and brooding look on my face. I needed to save Mom as soon as possible.
I would just have to search about this tattoo myself.
"Hey~ Nashi," Storm greeted, coming from behind me. I glanced at him just in time to see his puzzlement.
"Something up?" I asked, sitting down at a table. He sat across from me.
"You cut your hair..." he trailed off, then grinned. "I like it. You look really pretty like that."
I blinked at him, then blushed lightly, looking down to try to hide it.
"Y-You don't just say things like that...idiot," I mumbled.
"Anyway," Storm said, causing me to look up. "What'd the Master want with you?"
"He wanted to help me," I answered. "I feel like he was holding back information when I told him something, though..."
"What'd you say? Maybe I could help," Storm offered. I scrutinized him, then leaned over the table to get a better look at him. He became a blushing mess, stuttering utter nonsense. I nodded to myself, leaning back into my seat. He smelled like mint. "W-What was that...?"
"You pass," I said simply.
'What kind of test was that?'
'Loke, go on a date or something. I'm busy.'
'Yes, ma'am!'
I had to resist the urge to roll my eyes.
"I pass?" Storm repeated, sweatdropping. I nodded in confirmation.
"I trust you now," I said. "Of course, that doesn't mean I'm going to let you help me with everything."
"Yeah, whatever, just get on with it!" Storm hissed. I sent his a glare before continuing.
"My mother...before she was kidnapped...told me to be wary of those I find with a circled dragon tattoo," I informed. He raised an eyebrow, scratching his head. "You got something?"
"Yes," he replied, causing me to become hopeful. "Wait, no."
A tick mark appeared on my forehead.
"Think before you answer, Droopy Eyes!" I barked, causing him to laugh nervously.
"Well, I might know someone who would know something," Storm admitted. I smiled brightly.
"Really?" I gasped. He blinked at me, a slow blush shading his cheeks.
"P-Pretty..." he mumbled. I gaped at him, my face scarlet. I hit him on the head.
"Idiot! I already told you; you don't say things like that!" I chided.
"Do you wanna know who I'm thinking about or not?!" he seethed, rubbing his head in pain. I sighed, nodding. "Levy."
I slammed my head on the table, startling Storm.
"Why didn't I think of her before?!" I questioned myself.
"Don't do that!" Storm yelled. I stood up, scanning the guild for Levy. She was sitting and reading with a blue haired boy.
"Thanks, Storm," I called, walking over to her.
"W-Wait! I wanna come!" he said, running to catch up with me. I rolled my eyes in annoyance.
"Levy," I stated, stopping a few feet in front of her. She stopped reading and looked up curiously.
"Mama, keep reading," the boy whined, tugging on her shirt. She looked down and smiled at him.
"Shane, how about you ask your father to continue the story?" Levy asked kindly. I frowned. Levy was a sweet mother. I could tell. Shane pouted.
"Daddy sucks at reading. He always stops in the middle of a sentence and throws the book at someone instead," Shane said. Levy giggled.
"Maybe you can practice reading by yourself, then?" she suggested. Shane grinned, nodding and running off with the children's book. "So, do you need something, Nashi?"
"Do you know anything about a circled dragon tattoo? Perhaps it belongs to some guild or other affiliation?" I asked, getting straight to the point. Levy's eyes widened, then glanced at Storm.
"Nashi, have you told Storm anything...about your mom?" Levy inquired. I shook my head while Storm just looked between us desperately, wanting to be in the loop.
"You can trust me! Tell me!" Storm cried, waterfalls falling from his eyes comically.
"The less people that know, the better," I sighed. "I didn't even want to tell Levy. She figured it out."
"Well, I would be revealing critical information that would lead to him finding out something, so I suggest he leaves," Levy explained. I nodded, sending Storm a look. He sighed, taking a hint and leaving. "The circled dragon tattoo...it is a guild mark. They're a dark guild, but they're extremely nomadic. They're always moving, and you never know where they are. There aren't many members, but they're still powerful."
"What about that information would expose Storm to the identity of my mother and father?" Nashi asked coldly.
"I haven't gotten to that part yet," Levy said. "Anyway, Fairy Tail ran into them many years back, just before we dealt with Tartaros. One of the guild members was a Celestial Spirit wizard, and stole half of Lucy's keys, as well as all of Yukino's, a Sabertooth member, keys. Because of Loke, Fairy Tail was able to find them and disband them. They blamed Lucy because Loke was her key...could they really have grouped back together and taken Lucy?"
'This means it's my fault Lucy was kidnapped...'
I frowned, feeling pity for the lion spirit's sorrow.
'Don't blame yourself. I doubt she blames you.'
Loke didn't respond, but I knew he was still putting himself down.
"So they're the ones that kidnapped my mom, huh...?" I voiced, playing with my hair.
"And you're flame brain's kid, eh?" Storm asked, coming up from behind Levy. Said bluenette and I gasped, me glaring at Storm.
"You idiot! Don't cha know eavesdropping is rude?!" I barked, hitting him multiple times on the head. He hissed in pain.
"Yeah, but now you can't stop me from helping you," Storm said. "Although I think you should tell him who you are. He's been bummed about Lucy leaving, and if he knew why she did, he'd probably get all 'fired up' again, or whatever his lame catchphrase was."
Dad had a catchphrase...? I sweatdropped at the thought, then shook my head. Knowing him, it didn't seem so unlikely.
"Well, what are you going to do now?" Levy asked curiously. I glowered determinedly at nothing in particular, slapping a fist on my flat palm.
"First, I'm going to demand why Master refused to tell me this information and for him to not interfere," I informed. "Then, I'm going to hunt them down."
"I'll go with you!" Storm cheered. I shook my head, causing him to pout. "Why~?"
"Were you listening to everything Levy said? This guild is nomadic. It could be a while before we ever find them," I explained.
"But why would they be traveling with a hostage?" Storm pointed out. My bangs shadowed my face and I gritted my teeth.
"If they were just after revenge, I doubt they'd keep her alive for these last three to four weeks," I admitted. "I'm going to find this guild...find out what happened to my mom..." I looked up, a furious glint in my eyes. "And I'm going to avenge her probable death."
