Chapter 1

Zoë got up from her desk and proceeded to go to the bathroom. She was nervous for this, she hadn't done it in a long time. Her palms were sweating, her breath became shortened and her heart rate increased. Accordingly she looked down at her watch, waiting for the right moment to enter. It was special, this magical thing she could do, she wouldn't miss it for the world. Beep. Beep. Her phone buzzed in her blazer pocket, awaiting for her approval. She took out her iPhone and swiped to the right, it was time. She marched into the bathroom and locked herself in the tight cubicle. Her hand was on her wrist, on top of her watch. Suddenly, her watch started to become brighter. The light shone across the enclosed bathroom as it made a ringing noise. Two knocks approached the door, "Hello? Zoë? Are you in there?" A deep male voice beaconed through the girls bathroom. Crap, she thought to herself. The watch wouldn't stop, once it was activated, there was no going back. "Uhh, just a second," she said unsurely, worried he will find out. Shakily, she took off her watch and placed it into her blazer pocket. Flushing the toilet, she thought she was safe as she walked outside to find out who the male voice was. It was Barry. "Hey, Mrs Bates told me to get you. You're missing half of the movie, What took you so long?", "Ummm..." She began nervously, just like every time she spoke to him. "I was... Ummm... On my period!" Barry have her a weird look, "I got... Cramps when I was on the toilet and it hurt like hell so I just stayed there until it... Went away!" Crap, Zoë thought to herself, now Barry will just think I'm moody. Barry didn't respond, he was just staring at the bottom of her skirt. "Barry? Have I got something on my skirt?" She said concerned, his face didn't flinch from its shocked look "Your pocket.." He began, "I..I...it's shining!" Crap, she thought, cover it up quickly Zoë. "What do you mean? It's only a flashlight!" His face didn't move one bit. His hand reached into the pocket and he had it. The watch right in his thin, bony hands. "Give it here!" Zoë shouted "It's mine!". Barry ignored her, and started to examine the watch. "How did you do this?" He asked her "I didn't do that! I found it like that!" She lied as she tried to pulled it off him. Their hands were touching, and the watch kept on getting brighter and brighter. "Woah!" Barry exclaimed "That's amazing Zoë!" Zoë blushed and her cheeks became a peachy colour. Oh no, she thought to herself, no I need to stop this! She shouted "NO!" And threw the watch across the ground. It was too late now. A giant explosion knocked to two of them back, hitting Zoë and Barry in the face. It had happened, and there was no way to get it back.
Zoë had stopped time forever.
