Chapter 6

*in the past*
David was working in the farm with his mother, it was just a normal day. "David, darling. Can you.." Began his mother, until he interrupted. "Yes, I know we have to pick up the flour from the gypsies, the van is on the outskirts of this field," David's mother smiled, "Thank you darling," she kissed his cheek and he went. When he arrived at the moving gypsies van, there were crowds of people surrounding it. It would've taken him an hour to get his share of the flour. He decided to walk around the forest to see what is up, he was banned from his mother to do so. As he was walking, he heard a faint cry of a baby. He turned around, not knowing which direction it was coming from. Walking forwards, he heard it again but I grew louder. It was coming from the well. He dropped his buckets and ran to the well, as fast as he could. He arrived, tired and sweaty. But, he could see a child with a baby blue blanket wrapped around it as it was placed delicately into a blue cradle. David went forward and picked up the child, it was a girl. The baby immediately stopped crying. "Hello..." Said David, "What are YOU doing here all by yourself?" The baby burst into laughter as it was biting her thumb. David place the baby in his arms and observed the baby. He could know instantly from the way it slept (from babysitting children to earn extra money) it was a girl. He picked up her blanket, and saw the words 'Zac' stitched onto it in a deep ocean blue. "Zac?" He began, "That's not right, you're a girl! I'm gonna call you... Zoë. Zoë..." He looked around and saw a mill girl carrying his buckets filled with flour. "Mills. Zoë Mills." The mill girl approached him and placed the mill buckets on his back, "Thank you, m'lady." She smiled, "I have a name y'know. It's Erin." David replied, "I'm David, nice to meet you Erin." She smiled again and waved Zoë and David off, as they walked back to their place.
*in the present*
"Woah woah woah. Number one, you were stranded as a child. Number two, you were supposed to be a boy and number three. WHO IS DAVID???" Barry demanded. "All will make sense when I finish the story." Barry shrugged his shoulders and continued listening
*in the past*
After David had brought the baby home, mother was excited! She had never taken care of a girl besides herself. They nourished Zoë and grew her up as her own. David was like a Father to her, until something happened. "Now, Zoë mills. I want you to get to bed, otherwise the tickle monster is gonna come and get you..." David proceeded to tickle Zoë, she burst out laughing. "Hahaha, I'll go to bedHahahaha!" Giggled Zoë. "Ok then, he will be back if you misbehave young lady." Said David in a childish stern voice. He got up and began to leave, "Wait wait wait! Daddy you're forgetting something!!" Sadly exclaimed Zoë, "How on earth could I forget! Goodnight kisses!" He went back and kissed Zoë on the head and swept her hair back. "Goodnight darling, sweet dreams." He told as he slowly backed out into the doorway. "Hello, dearie," it was rumple. "It seems to me you have a child, David." David was angry, "Get out, you don't need her." Rumple tutted, and began. "Your daughter had powerful magic," David stopped "She has magic?" Rumple grinned. "Yes all of her family have magic so she would too." David smiled, "That's amazing!" Rumple put on a mischievous face. "Now, I need your daughter's magic to make mine stronger, but that will sadly kill her. But I need to do it now, because at age 6 their magic is the strongest." Rumple proceeded to enter the door, until David's hand was placed onto his shoulder. "Don't kill my Zoë, can we have a deal instead?" Rumple was happy he said this, "But of course! On your daughters 12th birthday, I will keep her as my own. I will not kill her or harm her or take advantage of her. If you will not hand her over, I'll kill her myself." David was in shock, "No, you can't take her away from me." Rumple tutted, "I guess I'm taking her now." Rumple walked in but David shouted "STOP!" Rumples turned around, "I'll accept your deal, just don't hurt her." Rumple giggled and came outside, handing David a big contract to sign. "Sign here, and at the certain age she is mine." David hesitated with the pen, but signed it. "Glad we had this conversation David, I'll see you in 6 years." Rumple poofed away as he left David in shock as to what he has done.
It was Zoe's 12th birthday, she woke up and shouted "ITS MY BIRTHDAY FATHER!!!!" David didn't come in this time, he usually did and he would carry a giant breakfast for them two to share. "Father? Where are you?" Zoë got up and walked out the door. She saw David sat with his hand in his face. "Father, what's wrong?" Asked Zoë politely, "Nothing my dear, it's just that Father had to do something." Zoë smiled, "Hey, it's ok. I can celebrate my birthday next year, when I'm 13." David's smile faded but he responded with "Whatever you want, darling." Just as he said those words, rumplestiltskin appeared. "Hello Zoë, hello David, hello David's mother. I'm glad you're having a good day." Zoë looked around and grabbed a metal plate and place it to rumples neck. "What do you want with my family?" Rumple laughed and pushed her away. "Well I'm here for you of course!" Zoë looked confused, "What do you mean? Father, what is he talking about?" David started to cry. "Let me, let us say goodbye to her." Rumple shrugged and said "You have 5 minutes, make them count." He said as he walked outside. "Daddy, what's going on? Why are you crying? Is he really gonna take me?" She began to cry, but David immediately went up to her and held her arms. "Zoë, Zoë listen to me. You're going to be fine. Rumple made a deal along time ago to take you away." Zoë started to panic and cry even more, "What? I can't leave, I can't loose you," she hugged David and David hugged her back, tighter. "Can't we back out of the deal?" Said Zoë sniffling. "If I back out, they'll kill you darling." Zoë sniffled "ok... I'll go with rumple. I love you daddy!" She hugged him tightly as tears rolled down her face and onto his back. David pulled her away "I love you too Zoë!" He kissed her forehead and have Zoë to his mother. "Zoë, I just want to know that you're like a daughter to me. Don't be upset, you'll find us. Just like me and David." Said David's mother, she was slightly tearing up. David went up to Zoë and his mother, "We will always find each other." They all hugged and David took Zoë to go with rumple. "Well it's about time, come on Zoë. Along with your new father." Zoe held onto rumple's scaly hand, she looked behind her and said "Goodbye daddy." Then before David could respond, they poofed away.
