*in the present*
"Wow, that is just... Depressing. I am so sorry" told Barry, Zoë's face was red, her eyes were puffy and her checks had some tears on them. "Look, Zoë. I'm sorry for calling you annoying when we first froze the world. I... I didn't know you went through with this." Barry leaned in to Zoë and hugged her tightly, she didn't fight back. "So, are you gonna tell me about the guy in the leather jacket?" Barry questioned, "Oh yeah I forgot." She pulled away and began her story.
*in the past*
Rumple had poofed Zoë to his magical tower, it was covered in rows of bookshelves and it had potions on the tables. Zoe's eyes were still puffy, but rumple had just started. "Hello, dearie. Welcome to you magical workshop!" Explained rumple, he started to walk around. "You see, I need to train you in your magical abilities so you can get something far more powerful than me." Zoë scoffed, "Nothing is more powerful than you... Wait I have magic?" Rumple smiled and came in closer to Zoë, "Yes, yes you too have magic, dearie! I need to train you to make you powerful and strong!" Zoë looked confused, "What do you mean I have magic? I haven't blasted someone by accident!" Rumple faced Zoë. "You see that thing on your neck?" Zoë looked down, it was a necklace her birth mother left in her blanket. "What? You mean this rubbish thing?" Rumple began to explain, "That necklace provides magic in lands with no magic. If a land has magic, it blocks all magic form the person wearing it." Zoë looked down, she didn't want to take it off. "Can I, keep it. Y'know, in my pocket?" Rumple giggled, "Of course you can dearie! Just don't have it on your neck and it won't be a problem!" Zoë proceeded to take off her emerald green necklace and place it into her pocket. "So, shall we get started?" Zoë nodded, unaware of what rumple had in store for her. Rumple taught her the basics; how to lift objects, how to teleport and how to pull out someone's heart. Rumple needed Zoë's magic to be light, so she didn't teach her how to crush hearts. She only knows how to tell if someone's heart is light or dark. 4 months later, Zoë was prepared to do the job rumple couldn't do. "So, what's the plan?" Zoë asked in the morning. "Well, I need you to befriend an enemy of mine. I need you to get a magic bean off him to give to me. You understand?" Zoë nodded, but asked one last question. "Ok, so who is your enemy?" Rumple smiled, "Why should I tell you when I could show you?" He magicked a crystal ball and showed Zoë her target. "That, is the person you are going after." Zoë smiled, "I can do. And what do I do if he finds out I'm working for you?" Rumple stayed still, "He won't, because you will do a good job at this." Zoë smiled, "Thank you rumple!" She turned around and hugged him tightly, but he was in shock. He said "Now go and fulfil your destiny." She smiled again, pulled away from rumple and walked out the doors.
It was night, and the man was drinking rum at the local bar. He had guy liner on and his jet black hair was all over the place. His left hand was replaced by a hook, and his outfit resembled something out of a costume shop. He got up and left the bar, closing the door behind him. Slowly, his crew slivered around him as he walked to his ship. "So, captain. Where to next?" Asked the smallest one. Zoë was behind the crew, just like she was instructed to do. "Well, smee. I was thinking why don't we go set sail into neverland. How about it?" Told the captain, the whole crew cheered. But Zoë walked next to one of the crews and nudged him. "Hey watch where you're going!" Zoë ignored him and went to the captain. The captain stopped, Zoë had a hood over her head. "Excuse me mate, can you get the bloody hell out of my way?" Zoë took out a dagger and cut off the captain's money pouch. She took one of his rings and ran off. The crew ran after Zoë, but the captain said this was his duty to get it. He ran and ran to catch up to Zoë, but Zoë purposely ran to his ship. She went above to the mast, when the captain stopped her. "No one steals from a pirate!" He pulled out a sword and sliced it down the side of her arm, making her arm bleed. The captain grabbed her head and pushed it against the mast "Now I think it's time to cut off your head." Zoë struggled but it was useless, the captain was too strong for her. "Now let's reveal what a bloody coward you are!" He ripped off Zoë's hood to reveal her innocent, red face. His devious smile faded and he let go of Zoë and she fell to the ground, she started to cry. Hook threw his sword to the edge of the deck, and crouched down to Zoë. "I'm so sorry, I didn't know you were a child." Said the captain, his voice said he meant it. Zoë shuffled but was in pain whenever she moved her right arm. "Oh I'm so sorry, let me get that for you." said the captain, he helped pull the cloak away from Zoë's body. The scar in her arm wasn't too deep, but she needed to go see a doctor. "I'm sorry. If I could repay you, I'll take you to the doctors to get you stitched up." Zoë nodded as the captain helped her up. She dropped her necklace on purpose, as rumple had instructed her. They visited the doctor and they needed to stitch her up. They ran out of anaesthetic, so she was awake whilst they stitched her up. The captain kept looking at her, still shocked she was only a child. When the needle first went in, Zoë grabbed the captains hand and gripped tightly. The captain was comforting, he kept on telling stories about the places he has visited on his ship. "By the way, my name's Killian. Killian jones." Zoë looked up at him and replied, "My name is Zoë. Zoe mills." Hook smiled, "What a lovely name you have, Zoë." She smiled at this comment. When the procedure was over, Zoë was instructed to stay overnight on the hospital. In pain, she listened to the doctors order but Killian interrupted and said "Let Zoë stay on my ship, please." The nurse shrugged and said Zoë could come home with Killian. She was still in pain, so Killian helped her walk over to the ship. "So, Zoë.." Began Killian, "Where are your parents?" Zoë stopped walking. "They didn't want me." Killian looked upset, "I'm so sorry, my dad sold me for a boat. Looks like we have something in common." Zoë looked up at him and smiled, "I guess we do." When they arrived at the ship, Killian introduced Zoë to the crew. "Good evening," told Killian, the crew responded "Good evening Captain Hook!" Zoë looked at Killian, "Hook? Really?" Hook chuckled "Well, this is Zoë! She will be staying with us for a couple of nights until she gets better. If anyone wants to speak with her, you have to go through me first." The crew understood as they went back to business. Hook helped Zoë into his cabin which had 2 beds inside. "So, Zoë. This is your house!" Zoë observed the room, looking at its trinkets and such. She moved by herself to the bottom bunk and sat down. Her lips were pouted and her eyes started to puff up. Hook saw this reaction, so he immediately ran over to her and sat down. "Hey, Zoë. What's up?" Zoe wiped her tears, "it's just, I can never repay you after what you did. Like, why did you do this? After I took your ring and your money?" Hook hesitated, yet he responded. "last time there was a child in my life, I lied to him about everything. And he left, and never came back." Zoë looked nervous, "That's awful. I don't have a proper home, I just go from village to village collecting money and food. I was set to leave in a week, but I'll stay here for more than a week. If you want." Hook started smiling "I would love it for the world," he pulled Zoë into his chest and placed his hands on her feeble head.
3 years later, Hook and Zoë were like father and daughter. Hook came in drunk with a girl, Zoë would send the girl away and put hook to bed. Hook went out of his way to get gifts for Zoë, like her favourite food (which is a watermelon) or some charm bracelets. Hook went out of town to get some food, and his crew went on a voyage to find magic. Zoë was left on the ship by herself, when rumple decided to visit her. "Hello dearie. I see that the plan is working." Zoë looked up, she had completely forgotten about the plan. "Yeah, about that... I don't want to steal it from hook." Rumple stopped, "You don't want to steal his magic bean to help me find my son?" Zoë bit her lip, "When you say it like that, but hook is like a father to me. For all I know my father could be dead!" Rumple turned around, "YOUR FATHER IS DEAD!" Zoë stopped and backed away, "He... He is?" Rumple came towards her. "Yes he is dead. And if you what to stay alive, you are going to get that magic bean off HOOK! DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR?" Zoë nodded quickly as rumple put his hands off of her. "Zoë, is this true?" Zoe turned around, it was hook. "How long have you been there?" Zoë asked nervously. "Answer the bloody question. Is this true?" Rumple had backed away by now, watching the argument. "What's true?" Lied Zoë, trying to back out of the argument. "ANSWER THE QUESTION ZOË! IS THIS TRUE OR NOT?" Zoë was frightened, but she responded in tears "YES IT IS TRUE ALL OF IT IS!" Hook walked backwards slowly. He was shocked. "Get out." Hook said sternly, "What?" Replied Zoë, she was confused. "I said GET OUT!" Zoë started crying, "IM SORRY, OK? I HAD NO CHOICE!" Hook was now angry, he wanted her gone. "WELL YOU HAD THE CHOICE AND YOU CHOSE HIM!" Zoë was offended, she got up and poofed away to rumples house. It took Hook 3 minutes to figure out what he had done. "On no. She's gonna die because of me." Hook said quietly. "What have I done?"
