[5] Sappy Movies and Hello Brothers

Jace's POV

The previously dark movie theater auditorium comes to life when the lights are turned back on. After watching a sappy movie that ended with the typical "happily ever after" (Carly's pick), it's like being woken up from the dead, but happily. My eyes take a minute to get adjusted to the now bright room.

"Did you like it?" Asks Carly, turning to face me.

Her fairly long brown hair is now tied up in a bun. Her small face is titled to the side waiting for a response.

"Yeah. It was great." I say, but really I was only saying that because I don't want to hurt her feelings. It was more of a chick movie. I could tell that she wanted to see it when she mentioned it, but I'm more into the hardcore stuff. You know, blood and guts, and tough guys smoking cigarettes and cussing like their life depends on it.

"Good. Cause I was hoping we could catch another movie right after lunch. Of course we could have lunch at the bakery around the corner, my treat, and then we could watch- "

Her words get cut short by the loud, aimless ringing of police sirens from outside the theater. I can hear loud feet stomping and clomping through the lobby until it gets closer and closer. The white doors to the cinema hall burst open revealing two sturdy bodyguard looking men.

The few people left in the movie theater are sitting in their seats, frozen, their eyes glued to the men. One man has his hands up in the air and looks afraid he might get shot or something.

I focus my attention back to the two men, who step aside and make way for another, slightly shorter man.

With the simple snap of his fingers, the bodyguards next to him make their way toward me, stopping only about two feet away.

With no time to waste they grab me by the shirt and place me in front of 6'1 feet of pure muscle.

His blue eyes dart between me and Carly, in the most familiar way. He gives me a once over, seeming to examine my body and the way I held my self, as well as my clothes.

The way this man looks at me, as if he owns me, made me want to punch him in the gut. Then stomp on his body while laughing like a crazed maniac. Damn, I've been watching way too much American Horror Story.

Something about the way his dimples appear when he smirks give me the strangest nostalgic feeling. Until I realize who he is. And the fact that this man from a very distance past is was standing right here, flesh and blood, in front of me made me want to shiver.

"Parker," I say, my voice almost an inaudible whisper.

His eyes seem to twinkle in the most devilish way before he finally utters a word, and his mouth quirks  into a sly grin.

"Hello brother."
