Nightmare
Peaceful sleep but rapid nightmares,
And no one can save you.
No one knows you're not in dream world.
Terrible thoughts haunt you.
You look for one, to help you through,
No one for you to seek.
Not right, not left, not in the sky,
The sky you cannot see.
She's right there and she's haunting you,
Looking for your crazed fear.
You run away, say not a word,
And the path is unclear.
You're frozen, you cannot move,
And she's staring right at you.
She says hello, asks how you are.
It seems like déjà vu.
You've had this nightmare before,
You know how to escape,
You listen to your enemy,
You're pushed and bent out of shape.
It's not the thought, not the nightmare.
It's who's talking to you.
It's your best friend betraying you.
And that's your biggest fear.
